Kathleen HENRY Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 26, 2017.
Kathleen Ross Henry passed away at her home in Jacksonville Beach on May 25, 2017 after a long illness. She was a loving mother and her children were her world. She adored her three grandchildren and the time she spent with them. She was a talented cook and loved her garden and plants.

Kathy was born on April 15, 1953 in Nashville, TN. Her family moved to Neptune Beach, FL in the summer of1954. As a child, the beach was Kathy's sandbox and the ocean was her swimming pool. Throughout her life she loved living near the ocean, whether in Jacksonville Beach or the Florida Keys. She married Bill Henry in 1979 and they were blessed with two children, Justin & Kristen. They lived for a brief time in Key Largo then returned to Atlantic Beach, FL. The beaches area would always be home.

Kathy fell in love for a second time with her childhood friend Thomas Galt. They spent 17 happy years together. Kathy was preceded in death by Tom Galt, as well as her father, Lee Ross.

She is survived by her two children, Justin (Kelli) Henry & Kristen (David) Edwards, her grandchildren Christian, Cason and Ella, as well as her mother Donna Ross, sister Lisa Laufle and brother Scott Ross, all of Islamorada, FL, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at Community Presbyterian Church in Atlantic Beach, FL on Friday, June 2nd at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida or The Jacksonville Humane Society.
