POOYAK, Kathleen (Bine)
November 5, 1951 - July 11, 2015
It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother (kokum), sister, aunty, cousin and friend. Kathleen was a loving, generous, and selfless human being. She is survived by her partner Greg; children: Derek (Shantelle), Tina (Chris), Julia; six grandkids: Kayla, Isabel, Matthew, Megan, Nicholas and Kaylee. Kathleen was born in St. Laurent, MB, daughter of Arthur and Jeanne Bruce, and had nine brothers and sisters. Kathleen was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Jeanne, brother Jim, and her cherished grandson Markus. She worked for several years at the Sunrise Native Addiction Services Society. Kathleen was a genuine, gifted and generous woman and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Kathleen's memory may be made directly to the Sunrise Native Addiction Services Society (1231 34 Ave NE, Calgary AB T2E 6N4). A Celebration of Kathleen's Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015 at the Centre Street Church, 3900 2 Street NE, Calgary, AB. To express condolences, please visit:

I wish to express my deepest condolences to the family & friends of Kathleen. I was blessed to have worked with Kathleen at Sunrise since 2007, and she will be deeply missed. Kathleen's smile every morning and the pride she took in her job are merely two of the wonderful things I can mention about Kathleen. See you again oneday my friend... xo
