HANBA, Kathryn - of Grand Blanc, age 71, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Ascension Genesys Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, MI where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Monday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 7296 Gale Road, Grand Blanc, MI. Burial follows at All Saints Cemetery, 4401 Nelsey Rd., Waterford Twp, MI. Kathryn was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 5, 1947 the daughter of the late Frank and Lucille Kowalski. Surviving are: her husband of 50 years, Robert Hanba; children, Cheryl (Elliott) Burke, Curtis (Julie) Hanba, Cynthia (Chris) Westcott, and Craig (Alex) Hanba; grandchildren, Owen, Edison, and Oliver; brothers, Brendan (Jayne) Kowalski, and Michael (Mary Ann) Kowalski; and brother-in-law William Vollmert. Mrs. Hanba was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Vollmert. Kathryn loved traveling, reading, entertaining her family, and knitting. She was a long time member of the St. Mark Shawl ministry. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Diabetes Association.
