Kathryn "Kitty" Snow Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 17, 2025.
Kathryn R. "Kitty" Snow, 78, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, after battling complications from a stroke in February.

In addition to her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, James "Skip" Snow, Kitty's life is celebrated by her brother David (Susie) Ruddock, sons James "Skip" (Anne Marie) and David (Rachel) Snow, and dear family friend Joe (Jean) Desch. A loving grandmother, she was cherished by Michael, Maria (Ross), Andrew, and Lauren, Drew (Katie) and Dylan (Dalya) Vonderhuevel, and Olivia and Madolyn Desch.

Born on May 7, 1947, Kitty was raised in Springfield, Ohio. She attended Miami University, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and studied French. It was at Miami where she began dating the love of her life, who was also from Springfield. Kitty and Skip -- who would eventually marry as a Miami Merger in 1967 -- would be ardent supporters of the University the rest of their lives.

Kitty was an accomplished swimmer and a very active and outgoing person throughout her life. She taught Jackie Sorensen's Aerobic Dancing for over 20 years and Stott Pilates for more than 15, and her students always enjoyed the enthusiasm and joy she brought to her classes.

That same kind of energy, spirit, and warmth was also evident in the way she supported her children and grandchildren in their many sports and activities. She loved the game of golf and what it meant to her family. On the course and elsewhere, with family or friends or sometimes even strangers, Kitty had a remarkable capacity to connect with people. Those interactions always reflected a generosity of spirit and her thoughtful nature.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Kitty's caregivers with Sycamore Spring and Hospice of Dayton.

The family will hold a private remembrance. Also, a Celebration of Life will be held at Dayton Country Club July 26 from 2-4 p.m.

In Kitty's memory, donations may be made to the Evans Scholar Foundation (www.wgaesf.org/memorialgifts).
