Kathy Morris

Kathy Elaine Morris, 59, of Longmont passed away peacefully December 23, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family, after a year-long battle with advanced colon cancer. She was born September 29, 1957 in Plainville, Kansas to Alcide M. and Bernice (Rogers) Thyfault. She moved with her family to Longmont in 1969 and graduated from Longmont High School in 1976. Kathy married John Ray Peterson on May 6, 1978. They had two sons: Jon Paul Peterson and Jeremy Ray Peterson. They later divorced. On September 9, 1999 she married Gary G. Morris. She worked as a bookkeeper for King Soopers for 37 years. Kathy loved crocheting, reading, cooking and working in her flower beds. She was preceded in death by her father and two sisters, Dolores Thyfault and Marlene Carpenter. Kathy is survived by her mother Bernice of Longmont, three brothers Allen Thyfault, Joseph Thyfault and Roger Thyfault all of Longmont; husband Gary, sons Jon (Anna) Peterson and Jeremy (Robyn) Peterson and nine grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10:30am Friday, December 30, 2016 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
