I live in the same building and right above Katie in Long Island City. I am shocked to hear of her untimely death. I had met her a few times in the stairwell and we had talked and I always left thinking this is a lovely and great person. I feel so sad for her son, Milo. I usually saw the two of them together and the last time I met them in a restaurant. Life is so cruel. I never understand why good people die early. May her soul rest in peace.

My thoughts are with the Sanderson/Miga families. I took a look through my yearbook, and Katie and her smile were on several pages. I will continue to send my thoughts and prayers.

Katie's death is a shocking tragedy. We send our condolences to the Sanderson/Miga families. We knew Katie from the Moth and were greatly impressed with her vitality and enthusiasm. She was a wonderful person- look at her photos of Milo and her husband on Facebook...

Katie's Family, I did not know her but reading the kind words shows a very special angel has entered heaven much too early. I am sorry for all the hurt you are feeling. She will always be in your memories and in your hearts.

Dear Mark, Ruth and Ellen,
I wish to convey to you my deepest sympathy over the loss of your beloved Katie. There are never any words to express how one truly feels at a time like this. I have known you all for so long I feel we are family. The beauty that Katie leaves behind will forever show. When you see the setting of the sun, newly covered field of snow, blossoming of flowers, rainbow after a rain shower and even the dawn of a new day, there is Katie's beauty. If you should feel a breeze out of nowhere, know that is Katie letting you know she is there. She is just away for now and has been brought home safely in the palm of God's hand. May you know that others share your sorrow. My love to you all and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. May you feel the love I am sending your way.
With deepest sympathy
