Katrina Page Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 19 to May 20, 2023.
Katrina Lynet Page, age 59, of Chicago, IL passed away, Wednesday, May 17, 2023, after a decades long battle with cancer.

Katrina was born on February 14th, 1964 to Nettie Page and Jesse Bufkin in Chicago, IL.

Katrina was a devoted daughter, kind sister, dedicated mother, grandmother, and aunt.

She was a 3x cancer survivor who lived every day knowing her days weren't a given and for those who loved her, it made every day a gift.

Coming of age in the 80's - she was briefly in a punk band, loved motorcycle boots and spiked heels, had 5 children and lived a full life by 30. For the next 29, she single-mindedly devoted herself to the care and love of others. She was passionate, funny, generous in her love, and with her time.

In short, she extracted every bit of joy that she could out of this life.

Her home was often the center of celebrations, visits from extended family, and for many, a comforting place to lay their heads. For many whom she nurtured, helped, and loved she was an every day hero.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and five of six siblings: Thelbert, Orlando, Kevin, Cassandra, and Alvin. Because of that, she was delighted to find additional family on her father's side later in life, especially her nieces with whom she developed a relationship.

She is survived by her long-time partner Estan Cooper, five children: Angelique (41) and son-in-law Mike, Araina (38), Alexander (36), John (age 34), and Whitney (28), 11 grandchildren: Markese, Marieon, Michael, Ella, Jerus, Arielle, Zy'aire, Taeshon, Raymeir, Jontae, and Nehemiah, 2 nephews Lance and Zachary, and 1 niece Britney. She also leaves behind an older sister Patricia and nieces Chanel and Rukiyah.

In accordance with her wishes, there will not be a funeral.

For those seeking to express their love and appreciation for her legacy, in lieu of flowers, please consider donations to foundations dear to her: Stand Up to Cancer, Kids Above All, AIDS Foundation of Chicago, or the Howard Brown Health Center.

Hey Warrior Princess , I think about you often. I still get caught on calling you after work to speak with about any and everything. Then, I realize I'm not able to no longer call. Selfish of me. I really miss you. Continue to rest easy. I love you, L Jay.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of my Sister in law, Katrina. I remember her as full of energy and life and loving her family. I recall the times that Orlando and I would visit Chicago, she would take out time for us. May the God who comforts all, be with you all and comfort you. My love and sympathy to all of you...Jennifer Page, Sister in law

Katrina love, you will be sorely missed! Gone too soon
Uh no girl you better get up, you know there's still room. We got a lot of time to bloom. Tend to flowers, pluck those weeds and don't forget to plant more seeds. On mother's earth, we have to work. No more idling around and acting like it just won't work. God will be calling us sooner than later, if we pause too much and often too soon. Oh Heavenly Father please bless this girl, my sis forever more, as she descends from earth into your heavenly door. Katrina love you are sorely missed.
