Keith Bradley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 6, 2017.
Keith was my sweetheart and best friend for 41 years.

He was first my acquaintance, then my sweetheart and fiancé. Next he became my brother in Christ, then my wonderful husband and father of our beautiful children, Andrea and Allen. He became a song leader, a Bible class teacher, then a deacon, preacher, and finally an elder at the 249 Church of Christ.

He was my hero.

Keith was born on November 10, 1955 in Houston, Texas to Bill and Joycelyn Bradley. His siblings were Glenn and Sheryl Bradley.

His parents provided a loving and supportive home that nurtured his every talent. And did he have talent!!
Keith was a born leader and a great salesman. He excelled at leading and he loved it. From school crossing guard in elementary school, to Boy Scouts where he was in charge of the cooking on the campouts. He sold more soap products door to door at age 13 than all the adults in The Swipe Corporation. He gave his first public speech at the Shamrock Hilton Hotel in downtown Houston when accepting the award for the most sales. He had to stand on a box to see over the microphone.

Keith had a beautiful, strong voice that his grandmother helped train as a young boy. He sang in the church choir, and in the Houston City Boys Choir. He played the oboe and bassoon and then his favorite, the drums. He sang and played the drums in several bands as a young man all the while not realizing that God was working a plan with a greater purpose. His skill in reading music and understanding voice control was the perfect soil to grow a confident and outstanding song leader in the Church of Christ where we sing acapella. On singing night at church, he would take requests for the members' favorite songs. When a song was requested he did not know…no problem. Keith would smile and say "well, I don't know this one, but, give me just a minute". He would study it for a moment then raise his hand, hum the various notes for each part (which I have never seen done, he did not need a pitch pipe) and off we went. He loved every minute of it.

He thoroughly enjoyed golf and was very good at it. A gentleman at all times, on and off the course. He played baseball as a young boy and enjoyed watching it on television, as well as football and basketball. College ball games were his favorite. As a boy, he loved dove hunting with his grandfather every season and the ride home listening to The Colt .45s (Astros) on the radio in the car.

Keith loved his work. He was in Estate Planning and Investment Advice. He always said it never felt like work because he loved what he was doing and he only worked with people he liked. His clients loved him and respected him and he felt honored to have their trust. He always strived to do his very best for them.

Keith strived to do his best for everyone every time. He was an optimistic, open-minded, generous guy with a big heart and big love for people.

He loved God and he loved serving God. In his last sermon, Keith said we should not live in fear of the ending we cannot write. And he didn't. After receiving the news of his terminal illness, Keith told the doctor "Well, that's not what I was hoping to hear, but you know, I'm ready to die. I'm prepared. I am not afraid".

Keith left us a beautiful example of a life well lived.

I will love him forever. I will miss him forever.

Sharon

Sharon: Keith was one of my best friends. In working together for nine and one half years we never had a disagreement or one cross word. I loved being able to suggest songs for him to lead which went along with my sermons. I know you miss him tremendously as I do my Sharon. God helps us as we depend on Him. Praying for your comfort.

My lifelong friend, as close as a brother and forever etched in my mind. He and a few other friends, suffered through teaching me the game of golf. Dear Mrs. Bradley and family,

I was honored to visit twice with Mr. Bradley at Baylor St. Luke's Hospital, where I am a chaplain. He was so warm and genuine. I could tell his faith was strong. He was an inspiration to me, and I will not soon forget him. You and your family have been in my prayers. May God provide peace and comfort at this time.

Thinking of you and your family. Michelle told me today that Mr. Bradley passed away and I am heartbroken. He was such a light to me and I was so blessed to know him for the short time I did. I was privileged to work with him and see the wonderful changes he made in his life and was always so impressed with his attitude and demeanor. He made me want to be a better person and a better health care provider. People like him are why I do my job. Please accept my sincerest condolences to your family.

What a joy it was to know Keith. I had the pleasure of golfing with him on several occasions, having meals and attending a few Astros games with him. Our conversations had his thoughtfulness and wit. I knew Keith as a kind man, speaking evil of no one, with a generous heart and jovial spirit.

Sharon and Family - my prayers and thoughts are with you in this time of great loss. I regret I did not get to know Keith's family on the personal basis that I knew him, but know I consider Keith to have been one of the truly special people that I had the pleasure of making acquaintance.

With deepest sympathies - Robert E. Goss, Jr.

Mr. Bradley was the most kindhearted man! Every time I saw this man he always had good things to say about his family. He was a patient we always looked forward to seeing in Dr. Rushfords office. He will forever be missed, and will always be in my heart.

I will miss my 'friend'. He called me his friend not because I was special and deserved it but because he was. Mr. Bradley was the kindest man I have ever known. I am grateful our paths crossed albeit as briefly as they did. He is an inspiration, man full of God's love for all that had the opportunity to be graced by his presence in their life.

Dear Sharon and Family,
Keith was always an inspiration for me. When Doris called and told me he had been diagnosed with cancer I could not believe it. Then he went so fast. I know God needed a strong voice in his choir and that is why he called him so soon. He will be missed greatly by all. So sad. Be strong for God always has a plan.

Sharon & family,

What a wonderfully written memoriam. I worked for VSR and met Keith while attending Dr Rhodes coaching program which also gave me the opportunity to meet you and Allen. Keith was certainly one of my favorite VSR advisors. His love for you, his children, his God, his church and clients was clear to all who know him and so beautiful. Prayers for you during this time.

To all the family from Jocelyn to Stella Louise, You have lost a son, son-in-law, husband, father and grandfather but Keith has gained a robe and a crown. He is at peace, in no pain and with his Lord. You all have so many wonderful memories as do I. Just today when we sang a song with a bass lead I could see & hear him as if he were there. He WILL ALWAYS be in our hearts. Praying for peace & comfort. Love to all of you.

Dear Sharon and family I am so sad to hear of your loss. Although it has been awhile since I have seen all of you, I have good memories. Keith was so wonderful when my brother, Nick Georges died; and my son, Gregory Evans was so impressed with Keith's actions. All of you are in my prayers, and I wish I could be with you now.

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife and they shall be one flesh. Keith & Sharon were Truly One ! What a Great New Testament Christian Example. Who You are is when no one is looking and so many were in awe of Keith, What a man of God. Spreading the Good news and bringing many to take Jesus on as there savior. Serving others around him and always answering the call. We will miss you Keith. Our sincere prayers are with all of your sweet family and we ask for each of them to be filled with the peace that You surly had and that God would keep them safe and his spirit would continue to dwell in them.

Sharon and family, You and Keith have been such dear friends to us. We have had such great times visiting, traveling together, dinners out, plays, children's weddings. We will never forget Keith and his kindness, sense of humor, and the love he had for you and his family. I can picture him now visiting with his dad and other family members, possibly even with Wanda, my mom who he got a kick talking about. One day hopefully we will all be together in our heavenly home. We have known Keith and Sharon almost our entire adult life and are so thankful for it. We could not be blessed with better neighbors and have good memories to keep us going. We are so so sad that Keith's life with us was so short but know he is right where he should be, in Heaven with the choirs of angels - probably leading them by now. Lots of prayers and love to you.
