Keith A. Smith, 90, formerly of Center Valley, PA, passed away on March 31, 2023, at the Masonic Healthcare Center in Elizabethtown, PA. He was the son of Paul K. and Myrtle Smith of Luzerne County, PA. He received a degree in English from Bloomsburg State College before enlisting in the National Guard. After his discharge, Keith accepted a teaching position at Emmaus High School where he taught for the next 29 years. An avid golfer, he started a golf team at the school which he coached from 1958 to 1974 and amassed a record of 203 wins, 9 losses, and 4 ties. Keith was also a member of the Masons, Shriners, and Eastern Star and a loyal fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Seventy-Sixers

Keith is survived by Ann, his wife of 70 years, as well as a daughter Kathryn, wife of Robert Brown, of Tampa, FL; son Kenneth A. and his wife Dena of Coopersburg, PA; two grandchildren, Virginia R. Smith of West Chester, PA, and Joseph T. Brown of Madison, NJ, and two great grandchildren.

Information on services will be announced at a future time. Donations in Keith's memory may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospitals

I have just read of Mr. Smith's passing. Mr. Smith was one of the most influential people in my life. He guided me to Bloomsburg for college and led me into a teaching career. RIP my friend and thank you for everything.

Dear Ken and family, please accept my sincere condolences for the passing of Keith. I remember him from when we were in high school and also from the brief time I worked at Emmaus High School.

You are officially called off from labor. You are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. We all are grateful for your stepping up to the plate when your country needed you the most. The final bugle has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow brother mason. A Navy Vietnam Veteran.
