Keith Calvin Terry, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, passed away at home in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Sunday, October 23, 2022.

Keith was born November 18, 1933 in San Juan Capistrano, California to loving parents George Calvin Terry and Inola Leola Welker Terry. He was the fifth of fourteen children. His family called him Casey, a form of his initials, K.C.

For most of his childhood, the Terry family lived in various cities in Southern California, living primarily in Laguna Beach, California. At age eight, Keith was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Long Beach. This occurred shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor in December, 1941. The family moved to Utah during his teenage years. Keith graduated from Hinckley High School in 1953, near Delta, Utah, where he lived with his family. He then enlisted in the Army during the Korean War and was assigned to a base in Germany. Because he could type, he was given the job of clerk to his commanding officer. The best perk of his assignment was that he got to drive his commanding officer around in an Army Jeep. He was honorably discharged in March, 1955.

After being discharged from the Army and returning home, Keith chose to serve as a missionary for his church. But before that call could be issued, Keith fell in love and proposed to Myrtle Ann Forsling, a brand new member of his church. She agreed to wait for him while he served as a missionary in Uruguay from August, 1955 to April, 1958. On May 1, 1958, ten days after his return from his mission, Keith and Ann were married and sealed for eternity, in the Salt Lake Temple. With great joy, they welcomed into their family nine beautiful children.

Keith completed his education, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in history from Brigham Young University in May, 1961 and a Master's Degree in history in 1964. While at BYU, he served as Student Body Vice President over Student Relations.

His career included many teaching assignments, teaching history and sociology in both high school and college. He taught religion classes at BYU, Institute classes at the LDS Institute associated with the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, US history at Troy High School in Fullerton, California, history and sociology classes at Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California.

Keith had long been interested in writing. He authored dozens of books, biographical, fiction and medical patient information books for doctors. He also had his own publishing company.

Keith served in many callings for his church. He served as Bishop of the Fullerton 2nd Ward, High Counselor twice and taught Gospel Doctrine several times. He served as an ordinance worker in both the Newport Beach Temple and later in the Albuquerque Temple. But his favorite calling, and one which he referred to many times, was teaching in Primary. He loved watching his former primary students grow up and serve missions.

Keith lived a long, happy and productive life. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Ann; his children, Jill Terry Lutz (Randy), Elizabeth "Lisa" Terry Graham (Jim), Jonathan Calvin Terry (Suzie) Richard Keith Terry (Merilee), Jennifer Terry Glissmeyer (Deric), Janet Ann Terry Cole (Josh), Jessica Terry Rule, and Erin Terry Dixon (Curtis). He was preceded in death by his son, Justin Boyd Terry who died just a few weeks after his birth in 1971. He is also survived by two brothers, Robert Joseph Terry, William Riley Terry, and a sister, Evelyn Kay Terry Kemp (Jeff).

Memorial Service will be held on November 19, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1555 North 1350 West, Provo, Utah 84604

He was a good teacher at Troy High School from which I graduated in 1968. So informative, so helpful and very interesting lectures. I went online recently to check on what happened to former school instructors and I learned of his passing. regards, Stephen Zirschky.

The Shoemaker Family has been affected generationally by Keith & Ann Terry and their whole family who included us, mentored us at the beginning of our marriage and our family. Hundreds of youth have been taught the lessons we learned from the most incredible example of Keith & Ann. Daniel & Lila, 7 children w/spouses, 32 grand children w/4 spouses, 6 great-grandchildren = 58 so far. Add in the hundreds of young men and women that we've served in youth programs and the families they've started. Last, not least, the books he has written have had a profound affect on the faith of so many. (I read one of his books a couple of years before I met Keith). The whole world would be a better place if more of us could know someone like Keith & Ann. To say the least, we love them forever.
