Roger Reeves departed this life and was called to rest on August 20, 2016 in Eufaula, Alabama at the age of 64. He was born on March 18, 1952 in Abbeville, Alabama to the late William Earl, Sr. and Fannie Mae Reeves. He graduated from Eufaula High School in Eufaula then continued his education at Knoxville College majoring in data processing. Later, he transferred from Knoxville College to Newark College of Engineering (New Jersey) where he earned his B.A. in Computer Science. Later in life he returned to Eufaula and became an active member of Eufaula First Born Church of the Living God. Always a proponent of education, he taught Sunday School. His devotion to education and particularly science education, also propelled him to work as a leader of the Explorer Scouts when he lived in New Jersey. Roger was preceded in death by his father, William Earl Reeves, Sr. and his brother, William Earl Reeves, III. He is survived by her mother, Fannie Mae Reeves of Eufaula; his children, Anthwan Reeves of Maryland, Roger (Monica Jimenez) Reeves of Chicago, Illinois and Rachel Reeves of Mount Holly, New Jersey; his granddaughter Naima Esperanza Jimenez-Reeves of Chicago, Illinois; his siblings, Lorenzo Reeves of Eufaula, Alabama, Patricia (Oliver) Martin of Columbus, Georgia, Neil (Bonita) Reeves of Newark, Delaware, Donald (Cynthia) Reeves of Eufaula, Alabama, Cheryl Reeves-Hayes of Van Nuys, California, Elliot Reeves of Woodmere, New York, and Stephanie Smith of Newark, New Jersey; one aunt; two uncles; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives; and ex-wife Claudette Reeves and best friend Calvin Walker. Though he will be missed by many, we find peace and rejoice in a faithful life well-lived. Funeral services to celebrate Roger's life and legacy will be held at Stanford Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Eufaula, Alabama on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jr. Bishop Joseph Williams officiating of Eufaula First Born Church of the Living God.
