In Loving Memory of Kelly Jo Asplin

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Kelly Jo Asplin, age 47, on Monday, May 19, 2025, at City of Hope Hospital in Los Angeles, CA, after a two-and-a-half-year courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her family and upheld by the prayers of countless friends and supporters as she passed into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Kelly did not see her cancer diagnosis as an obstacle, but rather an opportunity for her to strengthen her faith and grow in her relationship with God. She won this battle and is now enjoying her ultimate reward!

Kelly was born in Kingman, AZ, and moved to Tucson, AZ, in 1996, when she began her educational journey at University of Arizona. Kelly earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Arizona in 2005 and dedicated over eighteen years to serving the Tucson community as a pharmacist at multiple hospitals, to include most recently St. Mary's Hospital and Sierra Tucson. Her unwavering commitment to patient care and her compassionate spirit left a lasting impact on colleagues and patients alike. She is the daughter of Roger Rasmussen and Claudia Rasmussen, of Kingman, AZ. She is a devoted wife, mother, pharmacist, and cherished member of the Tucson, Arizona community. She is survived by her husband, Roger, and their two sons, Hunter and Ryder. Her life centered around her love, care, and support for her family. Roger and Kelly had a fairy tale relationship. Kelly loved to tell stories from when they met and how when it rained Roger would pull the car over, open her door, and dance with her in the rain. Their love for one another and for God guided everything they did in life, most importantly their dedication to their boys. Kelly was Hunter's biggest fan at every concert, and Ryder's most loyal supporter at every basketball game. They were the loves of her life and her greatest joy.

In addition to her husband and sons, and her parents, Kelly is survived by her sister, Tera Rasmussen, of Kingman, AZ; her brother, Ryan Rasmussen and his wife, Jennifer Lewis, of Tucson, AZ; her mother and father-in-law, Roger and Brenda Asplin, of Kingman, AZ; her brother-in-law and his wife, Ryan and Alora Asplin, of Kingman, AZ; and her nieces and nephews, Jakob, Auburn, and Colton Rasmussen, of Tucson AZ, and Lillee, Bryce, Madison, and Hope Asplin, of Kingman, AZ. Family gatherings were important to Kelly and she celebrated everything and everyone in big ways. Her life was a testament to her love of family. She will be deeply missed.

Service will be held at Lifepoint Church, 7355 N Paseo Del Norte in Tucson, AZ on June 21, 2025, at 11:00am. Following the service, friends and family will join for food and to celebrate Kelly's life by sharing hugs and memories with the family.

Roger, Hunter and Ryan, I had the privilege of working at SMH with Kelly as a pharmacist. She always filled the room with her radiant smile, especially when she talked about your family, that was her true love. May your days ahead be filled with comfort and peace.

Dear Roger, Hunter, Ryder, and Family,

Please accept our deepest and most heartfelt condolences. Kelly was a truly sweet and remarkable person whose warmth and kindness touched everyone around her.

We hold dear the memories we shared during the time our children attended Immaculate Heart School. From volunteering together at school events to serving as homeroom parents, Kelly´s generous spirit and joyful presence always stood out.

Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
