Kelly Reed Bogner, 33, of Monte Vista, CO died in his home in Monte Vista on Friday, July 22, 2011. He was born on April 10, 1978 in Wichita, KS to Phillip and Carole Bogner. Kelly grew up in Del Norte, CO and graduated from Del Norte High School in 1996. After spending time studying at both Fort Lewis College and Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Kelly returned to the San Luis Valley where he worked as a carpenter. Kelly had a passion for books and knowledge and a taste for music. He enjoyed nature, the outdoors and the beauty of the Colorado mountains. It gave him pleasure to prepare delicious food for his family. He was a man who cherished and did his best to protect and provide for his loved ones. He was a very loving and compassionate man who will always be remembered by his family for his caring nature. He is survived by his wife Stephanie Bogner of Monte Vista, CO and son Jayden Donahue of Grand Junction, CO, father Phillip Bogner of Del Norte, CO and mother Carole Bogner of Topeka, KS, sister Kristin (Ben) Donahue, nephew Andrew Donahue and niece Kaitlyn Donahue all of Grand Junction, CO, sister Mikaela Bogner and brother Joseph Bogner both of Denver, CO, grandmothers Lucille Reed of Topeka, KS and Evelyn Bogner of Parsons, KS and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers Robert Reed of Topeka, KS and Theo Bogner of Parsons, KS. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Kelly's memory at Rio Grande Savings and Loan contributions can be sent in care of Rogers Family Mortuary. Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista is in care of the arrangements.

Although we hadn't talked in years, I hope Kelly still thought of me as a friend! My heart goes out to all of his family and loved ones. He truly had a heart of gold!
