Kelly Simmons Doll

Kelly Simmons Doll, aged 56, passed away on June 4, 2024, in Kansas City, MO after suffering with a chronic illness. She was born on July 12,1967 in Overland Park, KS. Kelly should be remembered for her witty sense of humor, loving nature, and eternally broad and accepting personality, which manifested in a fundamental love and acceptance for all those whom she encountered.

Kelly attended Bishop Miege High School, later graduating with a B.A. in Literature from the University of Kansas. She possessed a passion for literature that reflected in her voracious love of reading. Over the years, she worked for several family run businesses, as well as in retail, most recently Barnes & Noble.

Beyond her professional life, Kelly was an avid film, art, and music buff- and a devoted supporter of the local K.C. music scene. Kelly leaves behind a wide swath of friends, locally, as well as those who grew to know her over the years, in her online community. She will be deeply missed.

Kelly also leaves behind a loving family, including her most loving son, John Miles, husband, parents, Mike and Paula Simmons, brothers, Michael and John Simmons, her niece, Mickey, and nephews, Kale, Felix, and Michael Simmons, along with numerous cousins.

In memoriam of Kelly, contributions made to a recovery/addiction treatment organization of your choice would be gratefully appreciated, supporting a cause very close to both her and her family.

Kelly's presence is going to be profoundly missed, but her spirited personality and passion for life will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her loving light has moved on, but never ever will it be extinguished or forgotten! We love you Kelly! And on this new journey of yours, Godspeed!
