Kelly Jackson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 15, 2024.
Kelly Murrey Jackson was born August 15,1985 in Houston, TX and passed away October 1, 2024 in Corpus Christi, TX. Kelly was 39.

Kelly is survived by her mother, Cindy Murrey, father, Mike Murrey, sister Melissa Sandoval (husband Matt), niece Brooke Sandoval and nephew Landon Sandoval. Kelly has many wonderful aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kelly is preceded in death by her beloved Aunt Pam Skinner, "Grandma" Leanna Ellis, "Grandad" Dr. Robert Ellis, grandmother Jo Brockman and grandfather Winston Murrey.

Kelly's young years were filled with fun and lifelong friendships. She participated in Girl Scouts, ballet, and was very active at church. She participated in all of the youth activities at The Woodlands First Baptist church and where she gave her life to Jesus Christ and was baptized. She especially enjoyed the weekly activities as well as the annual youth camps, mission, and choir trips. Kelly loved to go to Disney World. Her first trip was when she danced at Epcot with The Woodlands Civic Ballet, and she returned a several times. Going to Disney with her family brought Kelly great joy.

Kelly's grandma and grandad had a lakehouse at Lake Livingston. Many memories were made on the boat, tubing, swimming, fishing, playing ping pong, and doing puzzles. Kelly loved getting to spend her summers at the lake with family and friends, Brittany and Melanie.

Kelly loved her cats. Her first word on record was "KiKi". She officially became a "cat lady" when she was 6 years old, and she participated in adopting many more throughout her life.

Kelly graduated from The Woodlands High School in 2004. Kelly was a proud member of the fighting Texas Aggies. She began her college life at Callaway House in College Station in August 2004. Kelly and lifelong friend, Melanie, chose to be roommates in a four girl suite and were matched with two girls, Samantha and Shelly. The match could only have been orchestrated by God. They formed a friendship bond never to be broken. They have stood by each other in the best of times and through the hardest trials. Kelly and Melissa were blessed to spend one year together at Texas A&M, Kelly a senior and Melissa a freshman. Kelly graduated from Texas A&M University in May 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. She worked as a legal assistant at Fleming Law in Houston and at Bandas Law in Corpus Christi.

Kelly loved living near the beach in Corpus Christi and being an "islander". She enjoyed participating in the golf cart parades and decorating the golf cart for holiday events. She participated in many other island activities including the bicycle progressive dinners. Kelly made many close island friends.

Kelly was a wonderful woman. I met her just before she moved to Padre Island and was blessed to get to spend time with her.

Beautiful girl, I´m so sorry, on behalf of me and the many others who failed to protect your fragile heart. Thank you for gracing my life. I´ll never, ever forget the brightness of your light, but I have no doubt whatsoever that you´re beloved and sanctified by God.

Always your friend, Lindsey
