Kelly Godin McGonigal, 40, went to heaven on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer at her home with her husband, Gary, by her side.
Kelly was born on Dec. 2, 1969, in Waterbury, Conn., to the late Barbara (Greatorex) and Edward Godin Sr. She lived in Connecticut until 1980 when she moved to California. Kelly moved to Florida in 2003 and started her family. She will be remembered for her creativity, sense of humor, and fun-loving personality.
She is survived by her husband, Gary, and son, Matthew Edward, both loved dearly by Kelly. She is survived by three brothers, Edward Godin Jr. and his wife, Alison, of Watertown, Brian Godin and his wife, Whittney, of Watertown, and Mark Godin of Bakersfield, Calif. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to an educational fund for Kelly and Gary's son, Matthew.
Donations can be made out to Fidelity Investments, P.O. Box 5000, Cincinnati, OH 45273 (memo: Matthew Edward McGonigal). A memorial for Kelly's life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at First Congregational Church, 40 Deforest St., Watertown, Conn.

Gary,
We are so sorry for your loss, Kelly was such a fun-loving person with a quick wit and shining smile....I remember her at my 40th birthday with my sister Viki, they all got up to sing a song for me, and Kelly chickened out and ran out on the group, she was very shy!
My thoughts go to and your son.Our deepest sympathy...
