Kathy~ I saw a bumper sticker memorializing Kelly and my heart dropped. I hoped and prayed it was some other Kelly McPherson. I have very fond and vivid memories of you both. My prayers to you and your girls~

Kathy-
The Monarch Butterflies in my backyard started hatching last Tuesday, and as I watched them flutter around and try to fly I was thinking of Kelly someday being free of cancer and flying. I didn't know until that evening that Kelly had left this earth earlier that morning. Since that day, everytime I see a Monarch I think of Kelly and your family, and how hard it is to not have her here, but how glorious it is that she is free. She will be forever missed, but will always be near.

its been a tough few weeks. i can not stop thinking about all the fun times kel and i had together. i didn't have the courage to get up and share any at the service so i thought i'd write it. kelly was my first friend when i moved to maple grove in 6th grade. she took me under her wing andfilled me in on everyone and everything. we spent a lot of time at her house jumping on the trampoline and swimming in the pool. she always knew how to have fun. i actually got a chance to go to a church camp with her where we had to walk across a wire way up in the air and we both were so scared but kel was so brave and helped me across. i remember going to valley fair for a lock in over night with our youth group. ..kel and i rode the wild thing for the first time together at 6am watching the sun come up. she was always there for me. i miss her more than words can say.

Kelly was more than a friend she became family when she was 19 years old. She was full of life and became a big sister to all 3 of my children. There faces would light up if they saw her car coming around the corner and run to the door to see who would hug her first. As they got older Kelly was there for the birth of our first Grandchild. Kelly was the first one I would call if anything exciting was going on good or bad she was always there. She never missed any important event. She was a selfless person. We had countless laughs. One thing I will miss the most is her randomness of just showing up out of the blue,it was always such a happy suprise to all of us. We will all miss her more than words can express. Love you sweetie Im so glad you are resting now.

I only met Kelly two or three times, but I knew right away she was a special person. She was a special person to my great granddaughter, Christine Young, whose mom is Angie Gislason. Kelly and I had a lovely conversation at Christine's 1st birthday party. She was so nice to sit and chat with an old lady. My sincerest sympathy to her family. She was a dear one. Hello Kelly's Family;
I am so saddened to hear about Kelly. She was in my Stress Management Class at North Hennepin Community College this past May. It was in class that she got the news from her doctor to come in for some new tests. We had a "no miss policy" for that one week class. It was with courage that she shared her situation with the class. The class instantly embraced her! We loved her!!!!! I can remember the first day of this long, one week class. Kelly had a cold, but was so positive about the class and looked forward to the week. I remember looking at the sparkle in her eye, her enthusiasm to learn and thought to myself...this young lady is special and will be such a positive addition to this class. Little did I know how special she was, but, by Friday we had become very close. On the last day of class, we hugged, cried, and promised to keep in touch. It is with tears in my eyes that I say to you I was blessed to know her!

A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again and though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it.
