Kemis BELSHER

BELSHER, Kemis Kenneth October 29, 1921 - April 7, 2003 Kemis Kenneth Belsher passed away peacefully, with his family at his side at the age of 81 at the Royal Alexander Hospital in Edmonton on April 7, 2003. Kemis leaves behind his devoted wife of 57 years, Shirley (Maxwell;) his daughter Melinda (Gary) Reinprecht, his son Ricky (Debbie) Belsher, and his son Danny (Adeline) Belsher. Also surviving Kemis are his six special grandchildren, Trish, Chad, Shawn (Tracy), Trevor (Maureen), Tracy and Tammy, and also his recent blessing, the newest member of the Belsher clan, his great-grandson Benjamin Belsher. He was predeceased by his son Dwayne in 1979, and by his parents, Milton and Inez Belsher, who perished in a blizzard at McCord, Sask. in 1951. Kemis also leaves behind his brother Merlis (Helen) Belsher, and his sister Elva (Harold) Hunter, his sisters-in-law Jean Burr, and Eileen Clampitt, also 24 nieces and nephews. Kemis was born October 29, 1921 in Kincaid, Sask., and was raised on the farm at McCord, Sask. In October of 1942 he became a proud member of the R.C.A.F. (Royal Canadian Air Force), and retired as a Warrant Officer in 1971. From 1974 to 1989 he completed his career as manager of Weldon's Concrete Products in Prince Albert, Sask. Kemis made many friends (personal and business) in Prince Albert and he enjoyed spending his summers at Emma Lake, Sask. Kemis never lost his love for the land he owned at McCord, Sask. He spent countless time at the McCord homestead helping with seeding and harvesting. His friends and family in and around McCord will recall his devotion to the land. He enjoyed curling as his main interest. He was a great supporter of the Royal Canadian Legion. In the 90's he offered support to a fledgling Alberta founded Reform Party. All those who crossed his path during these exciting times will remember his dedication to politics. The family would like to extend the utmost thanks to the palliative care Unit # 34 at the Royal Alexander Hospital in Edmonton, for their support in this difficult time.
