Ken Prentice Obituary

Ken Prentice, 49

Devoted father, Accomplished Biotech Executive, and Outdoor Enthusiast

Ken Prentice, of Seattle WA, passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2025 at the age of 49. A beloved father, son and friend, Ken leaves behind a legacy of compassion, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Ken is survived by -his two cherished daughters, Hazel and Eliza, who were his greatest joy in life. He is also survived by his father, Terry Prentice, and his mother and stepfather, Sue and Jeff Walen.

Professionally, Ken was a gifted scientist and respected executive in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, having built a successful career marked by curiosity, innovation, and leadership. Yet despite his professional achievements, it was his relationships-with family, friends, and colleagues-that defined his life.

Outside the lab and boardroom, Ken found solace and joy outdoors. Weather hiking mountain trails, snowboarding his favorite trails, or cycling long winding roads, he embraced nature with the same vigor and gratitude he brought to all aspects of his life.

He often said that each day was 24-hour gift, and he lived accordingly present, generous and grounded in fellowship and service to others.

Ken's passing is a profound loss to all who knew him. He will be remembered for his gentle heart, sharp mind and quiet strength and boundless love for his family and friends.

In honoring Ken's memory may we strive- as he did- to live fully, love deeply, and give selflessly.

Lovingly crafted by Gary Fortin, Friend of Ken

His daughters have asked that donations be made to Our Redeemers Lutheran Church and to Northwest Association for Biochemical Research, in recognition of Ken's work in biotech and belief in the value of scientific research. -
