Kendall Jenner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 14, 2010.
Kendall P. Jenner, 78, well-known resident of RR 1 Rome, Pa. (Pike Twp.), passed away Tuesday morning, April 13, 2010 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa.

Born June 20, 1931 in Montrose, Pa., he was the son of the late Harley Jenner and Marguerite Barnum Jenner. Kendall attended school in Rush, Pa., and later entered the U.S. Army on Aug. 8, 1948, serving until completion of his military service in 1950.

On May 27, 1950 he married the former Jeannine Pratt in Watkins Glen, N.Y.

Kendall purchased a dairy farm in Potterville, Pa., now known as Jennerous Acres, which he operated for many years until 1997. He also drove a logging truck and delivered saw dust in the area for many years until the time of his passing.

For 49 years, Kendall drove a school bus, transporting Amish children to school and the English children to the Northeast Bradford schools, as well as students to the Bradford County Vo-Tech Institute in North Towanda.

Kendall served as a Pike Township Supervisor for several terms. He possessed great love for his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kendall enjoyed the outdoors, operating his farm, caring for his property, camping, four-wheeling, snowmobiling and collecting tractors.

He will be fondly remembered by his family and many friends for his warm congenial outgoing personality and for making people smile. He will be deeply missed.

Surviving are: his wife of 59 years, Jeannine, at home; his children, Cinda Brown and her husband Wayne of Rome, Pa., Debra D'Allesandro and her husband William of Foster, R.I., and Ronald Wandell and Donna of Troy, Pa.; grandchildren, Tony, Robbie, Kimberly, Brandon, Damien, Brian and Lucas; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kendall P. Jenner Jr. in 1982, his brothers Richard and Harley D. Jenner, and his sister, Eloise Conrad.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010, at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa., with Pastor David Pitcher of the West Warren Congregational Church officiating. Interment will be in the South Warren Cemetery, Warren Twp., Pa., with Towanda American Legion Post No. 42 according full military honors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to the Northeast Bradford School Scholarship Fund, RR 1, Rome, PA 18837, in Kendall P. Jenner's memory.

I had the privilege of knowing Kendall Jenner when I visited uncle Nathan Donnelly on his farm in Potterville, Pa. Kendall, what a man! We rescued a sick cow in the woods. Nothing like the character of those dairymen in the old days....they helped each other all the time. Now we have huge dairies and corporate farms with machines in milking parlors and migrant workers.

Aunt Jean,I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle Tom.As kids we were fortunate enough to spend many weekend with the both of you on Jenerous Acers,I will carry many great memories with me till I am no longer abel to remember.I remember most always asking Uncle Tom to wake me when he gets up to help him milk the cows and he always said he would, and in the morning he was always so quiet as to not wake us.I would always wake to the sun shining in my eyes and jump up and run out the back door as fast as I could to the barn to yell at him for not waking me.As I got close to finding him he would yell HEY PETE [I never new why he called me that a joke I guess]as he sat on his three legged stool between to cows hidding he would blast me with an eye full of milk boy did I get mad,he always made it up to me by taking me on the school bus to take the kids to church.I talked with him about two months ago and 25 yrs later I could not resist when he anwsered the phone I asked is this Pete he said no this isnt Pete I said are you sure this isnt Pete i could hear him getting a little mad after 3 or so times of asking him just before he hung up on me I said give me one minute and i will prove to you that your Pete and went on to ask him if he remembered annoying a little boy by calling him pete well the line went quiet for a minute and he said with a chuckel I guess this is Pete.We both got a good laugh, you will be sadly missed by all who new you and there is and always will be only one UNCLE TOM

Josh, Cassidy, Nick and Luke Gamble/Colvin will miss Kendall driving their bus morning and afternoon. He was always patient on those late (running down the driveway mornings) and never complained when we had to put our Nick on the bus crying cause he didn't want to go to school. He said he would get over it and Kendall was right..he finally did. I know the stories that I have heard from the Gamble's always made me laugh when hearing about Kendall. Take Care..and your family is in our thoughts and prayers..

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I could'nt have asked for a better grandfather! I always loved spending time with him, they were always good times! Some of my best memories in life I have were spent with him. When I was a little kid I was the first kid on the bus in the morning and the last one off at night. I was so proud of him, and always sat right behind him on the bus, acting as his look out! Watching for trouble makers! Such good memories! We have to be some of the most fortunate kids in the world to have grown up with such wonderful grandparents! I always loved spending time on the farm, gramp was so lucky to have lived his life in such a beautiful place! Thanks for all the great memories, and making me laugh and smile! You were always a big kid at heart!
Love ya and miss ya!!!

Jeannine and family - Jim, Michael, and I are so saddened by Kendall's passing. He was such a special man to us - his neighborly morning horn toots, his stories about old times, his great laugh, his ability to tell it like it was. When Mike finally got to ride the bus for the first time ever and every time after that, he'd say, "Come on board, neighbor!" and off they'd go. I will truly miss my best buddy next week when I go to bus duty. He'd always welcome me to the corner by blowing me a big Chuck Woolery kiss and sharing a huge smile. We will miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Where to start Grampa Tom was a big part of all of our lives. He was always there to help us grandkids when we need him. He was a character a little excentric at times. One of the toughest men I ever new he was someone that you either loved or hated. I will alway cherish the time I spent with him especially the year that I live with him and Gramma Jean after I got out of the Air Force. Which he was my insperation to volunteer. I will always cherish to stories we shared about our adventures while in the Military. I was fortunate to have been stationed in the same region he spent time in while he was in the Army and visited some of the same places that he did. He is the only one that understood me when no one else did.. When I moved home from Las Vegas, I can still see him lighting his pipe and looking over the top of his glasses and said, "Newelly, you will go to college and make something of yourself." Well I am here to say it was a long road but I did exactly that. There is a life time of advice and wisdom that man shared with each of us in our time shared with them. I am a better person because of him. I will always love him and everything he has done for me.

Love you Pop,

Newelly
