It has been an absolute tragedy to lose Ken. He was kind, caring, friendly, and respectful. He was one of the core people I looked forward to interacting with regularly at work. Sending love and condolences to the Buyers family. Ken is in my mind and my heart daily, his absence is deeply felt. Love, Roxi

Ken was my oldest friend. We met back in middle school, and from the very start he made me laugh like no one else. We´d spend hours on the phone, sometimes even watching the same movie at the same time and giving our own running commentary. He had a love of history, a quick wit, and a huge heart. The summer after we graduated high school, I was lucky enough to go on vacation with his family - another memory I´ll always treasure. I´m so grateful for the friendship we shared. My heart and prayers go out to his family, and I hope that knowing how deeply he touched so many lives provides some comfort during this time of boundless heartache.
Goodbye, my friend. I´ll love and miss you forever.

My sincere condolences to the family. I had the pleasure of serving with Buyers at Ft Bragg and Iraq. I have nothing but fond memories of him. I could always count on him to make us laugh. He was kind, smart, hard working and a true soldier. Im glad he was apart of our G6 family.
We have all moved and started new lives. But one thing for sure, the memories and times we had, will never fade. May he rest in peace.

God bless,
SSG Telisa Brown

My condolences to the family. I haven't seen Buyers since I left Fort Bragg but once we serve together, we are forever family. You will always be remembered for your persistence, sense of humor, and integrity. It was a pleasure to serve with you and a great honor knowing you. My brother in arms I pray that your soul is at rest.

I had the pleasure to serve with SGT Buyers early in his career at Fort Bragg. He was a great person and we shared a lot of laughs in the G6 Section. This picture is a snippet of the "G6 Family" that deployed to Iraq in 05. He will be truly missed and always will be "G6". Until we meet again! SFC(R) Jessie Freeman

I had the opportunity to serve with Ken while in the Army. He was my Team Lead during our deployment to Iraq in 2009 while at CSC Scania. He had a terrifically goofy and sometime spontaneous personality that really brought some humor during our time there. As a leader you could tell that he cared and really looked out for our team. I remember most days when he was coming back from the gym, he would poke his head into mine and my roommate´s room grinning asking if I had any Gatorade protein shakes and Pomegranate Rip-Its. We had the only mini fridge in the living area for our group, and I was the one who would do the Class 1 pickups for rations and those were always his requests. During work when we had down time we´d hang out and watch whatever movies that we picked up that week from the Iraqis in the makeshift market they had on the base, and a lot of evenings where he and a few of us would play World in Conflict together. We stayed in contact off and on since but had not spoken in a while. I am very sorry to hear that he passed away. Ken was always so kindhearted and caring when we served together and the world is lesser with him gone. Til Valhalla Brother.

I never had the honor of meeting this young man but he sounds like he was a fine human being. I rejoice that he enriched his parents lives. I will pray for comfort, healing and strength as his family journeys on. God bless you all.

What a stirring tribute to your remarkable son! Ken's life was so full that his spirit and legacy will indeed be eternal!
Our hearts go out to you Terry and Ed....I see you both in Ken's eyes and smile and his passion for life, friends and family. The morning this photo was taken, we were taking Grace to soccer and my handsome guy was getting me coffee. Ken really was an amazing, talented man. Grace gets all of her sports talents from Ken. There was so much joy in the moments Grace had with her dad playing basketball, soccer, throwing the football, playing with the puppies, teaching her to play War Zone, and showing patience. His love for family was unconditional. Ken was always protective of his family even during video game playing. His kindness and compassion made my heart flutter. Ken always made me feel as tho I was the most beautiful woman in the room. I am forever honored to be the wife of such an amazing man. I will see you again my love. Until then, I will hold you close to my heart and keep your memory with us in all we do. I love you Ken Buyers.
