Kenneth George Obituary

In Loving Memory of Ken George

It is with profound sadness and love that we mourn the sudden passing of Kenneth William George of Southlake, TX, who passed away on November 27, 2024, at the age of 73, following complications from a medical procedure.

Ken will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 13 years, Maggie; his children, Kaylin, David Dalton, and Matthew Dalton; his brother, Thomas (Margo) George; extended family; and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Rosemary Bogan George.

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Ken held a master's degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in technical writing and communications. A lifelong learner, he pursued post-graduate studies in many subjects that sparked his curiosity at NC State in Raleigh, where he resided for 31 years. At the time of his passing, Ken was working part-time as an ISO Senior Lead Auditor.

Ken was deeply involved in and served as treasurer for AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association), an organization dedicated to philanthropy and education. A proud Welshman, Ken fulfilled a lifelong dream in 2019 of visiting Wales, his ancestral homeland, with Maggie by his side.

Ken will be remembered for his enthusiasm for life, compassion, generosity, and sense of humor. He brought joy and laughter to everyone he met. Ken was an excellent chef and enjoyed traveling, exploring different cultures and languages, listening to classical music, studying history, swimming, and playing billiards.

Ken and Maggie's love story began 17 years ago when they each contributed an entry to Legacy.com. After exchanging hundreds of pages of correspondence and finally meeting in person, they knew they were meant to be together. Ken moved from North Carolina to Texas to be with Maggie, and they shared an idyllic 15 years together.

A memorial service and luncheon will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at noon, at St. Demetrios Orthodox Church, located at 2020 NW 21st St., Fort Worth, TX 76164.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to one of Ken's passions, Doctors Without Borders or the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Education and Outreach Programs.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to someone as remarkable as Kenn. It was truly a privilege to work with him and to know him. He was a valued part of the Penske family for over 10+ years, and his contributions and presence will be deeply missed. On a personal note, I will always remember how much he spoke about his wife, Maggie, who he often referred to as the love of his life. His love and admiration for her were evident in every conversation. Ken's kindness, dedication, and warmth left a lasting impact on all of us. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

A few days ago, I missed my 9am breakfast with Ken.

It had been a regular, Thursday appointment for several years. I looked forward to it and so did Ken. There were a handful of places that we visited and the breakfasts were always good. But the best part of our breakfast was the conversation. One or the other of us would hold court and talk about art, music, history, science, philosophy, his travels with Maggie, and sometimes Ken´s consulting engagements and the changing face of business. Ken was warm, open, and personable. He genuinely liked people and was curious about them. It showed during our breakfasts when he engaged in conversations with servers and other patrons.
Ken and I shared a lot of things that in common, and there were things that made us different. These weren´t differences that needed to be resolved, but rather explored. And those differences made for the best conversations.

I will miss Thursday breakfasts with Ken, I miss them already.

Diana and I extend our condolences to Maggie in this difficult time. We pray for her and for her family.

Ken was ALWAYS making me laugh!
I met Ken years ago when he was the external quality system auditor for our North American operations. Our business relationship easily transformed into a personal friendship, although that did not inhibit the roles/responsibilities our jobs both required.
Ken was a very special guy. Even after I retired, we stayed in contact through social media. We would go out for breakfast when I would travel from NC to TX to visit my daughter and grandchildren.
I will definitely miss Ken. I was shocked and very saddened when I just saw on social media that Ken had passed.
May you rest in peace, Ken! I know you´ll keep them laughing in heaven.

Maggie, we will miss Ken greatly. Our trips to Anderson Creek and Fredericksburg were all the more memorable for Ken's cooking prowess, uncanny pinochle skills, and joie de vivre. Rest in peace, our dear friend.

Dearest Maggie, my heart hurts for you. Ken was your best friend, the love of your life how much joy he brought to you each day. How I loved the stories that you would tell me of Ken, and then when he would interrupt us on the phone for something. Goofy. He will be truly missed and I pray for God to have his hands on you to comfort you during these times. Love you, Gayle.

Deepest condolences to Maggie and all of Ken´s family. Ken was a beloved adopted uncle who showed me and my brother Justin such love and kindness after the passing of our father. I will miss his passion for cooking and sharing recipes, and his dry humor and wit so reminiscent of my dad´s.

Ken lit up a room, as everyone wanted to be around him and hear his laughter and wisdom and stories. Condolences to Maggie as she gets through each day with only her memories of Ken and their wonderful years together. Their love was so special and strong.

Kenneth was my mom's cousin and he was always in comminication with my husband and I over the years. We finally got to meet him in person 2 weeks before he passed while I was visiting Dallas for the first time for work. He shared with me family stories and how he remembered my mom as a child (which was the last time she saw him). He had a great sense of humor and loved Indian food (my husband is Indian) and took us to one of his favorite Indian restaurants while in Dallas. These memories I will cherish forever. I am still in shock and disbelief he is gone. He shared his faith with me when we met and how involved he was in the Greek church, and I believe that he is now with God and at peace. Maggie, you will be in our prayers during this difficult time. God bless.

Love, Michelle and saurabh

He really loved his life with Maggie and would often say how lucky he was to have found his soulmate. Rest peacefully Ken, you will be missed.

Ken was my brother-in-law. He was also a beloved husband, father, and friend. Ken's gregarious personality made new friends wherever he went, whether sitting next to someone on an airplane or standing in line at the grocery store. He was smart and hardworking, but also fun loving. His deep laugh was infectious, and he lived every day to the fullest. Ken often said that my sister agreeing to marry him was the best thing that ever happened to him, and I know that their 17 years together were very happy ones. He will be missed by so many.

I wish I had gotten to know him better But the few times he was here in Buffalo with Maggie, showed me what a unique and special man he was. I enjoyed his asides when I talked with Maggie on the phone and his FB page. There aren´t enough superlatives to describe this wonderful man. My deepest sympathies to Maggie, his family and friend.
