Kenneth Gifford Obituary

Kenneth Gifford, Greentown, died Monday at Geisinger Community Medical Center.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late James and Florence Pierrpont Gifford, he was of the Lutheran faith. Before his retirement, he was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a motor carrier enforcement officer. In his younger years he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and shooting. His hobbies included woodworking and collecting oddities from all over. He was always joking around and having fun, but he also enjoyed helping others. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed.

Surviving are a son, Chris Gifford and wife, Hazel; three grandsons, Stevin, Ryan and Logan Gifford; three brothers, James "Skippy" Gifford, Daniel Gifford and Norman Gifford; five sisters, Kathleen Rhodes, Eileen Gifford, Carol Gjoka, Jamie Lukeski and Mary Swingle; nine nieces and eight nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard; two brothers, George and Robert Gifford; a sister, Sharon Gifford; and a niece, Marissa.

The funeral will be Saturday at 4 p.m. from the Frey-Fetsock Funeral Home Inc., 201 Route 191, South Sterling. Interment, Pine Grove Cemetery South Sterling.

Friends may call Saturday from 2 until service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Forest Fire Crew 34, c/o Roger Seese, P.O. Box 44, Cresco, PA 18326.
