Kenneth Gray Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 4, 2025.
Kenneth "Kenny" Dwight Gray Jr., lovingly known as KG, was born on June 9, 1991, in Columbus, Ohio, to his parents, Kenneth D. Gray Sr. and Andrea P. Gray. On December 28, 2024, Kenny departed this world for eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.

Kenny's life was deeply rooted in family and love. He is survived by his beloved wife, Chantel Gray, and his children: Jairee, Kendal, Kenneth III, Kennan, Khalil, and his bonus children Cayden, Carter, and Chayce. His sisters Ciera and Kanasha Gray; sister-in-law Ceneesha (Claude) Browne; and brother-in-law Jamarr (Mikala) Pimento also carry forward his memory with affection. Kenny shared a special bond with his great-great-grandmother Lucille Elliott Wingate and great-grandmother Pearlie Mae Dean-two women whose love shaped him profoundly. His great-grandfather Kerll King; grandparents James and Toni Williams; Bonita Smith; Marvin Louis Smith Sr.; and Robert Tolbert were central figures in his life and continue to honor his memory.

From an early age, Kenny's enthusiasm for life shone brightly through his passions and pursuits. Football played a significant role in shaping who he was-a source of pride and joy throughout his youth. As a student at Independence High School, Kenny embraced the camaraderie and discipline of being part of the football team. Later, as a Defensive Back and Corner Back for the Eastland Vikings Football team, he created treasured memories that remained with him always. A dedicated fan of Ohio State Football, Kenny found happiness in cheering for the Buckeyes alongside friends and family.

Beyond sports, Kenny had an infectious zest for life that was evident in everything he did. He loved playing video games and treasured every moment spent with his children-moments filled with laughter and joy that enriched both their lives and his own. His ability to spread excitement brought people together and left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Kenny's vibrant spirit extended beyond family to include close friends who became like family over the years. Special friends Al, Armoni, Raymond, and Sheek mourn his loss deeply but hold tight to the countless memories they created together-memories that will keep Kenny's spirit alive in their hearts.

A host of cousins and special nieces/nephews also carry forward Kenny's legacy of love and connection. His life was a testament to the power of relationships whether through family ties or friendships-and the impact one person can have on so many lives.

As we remember Kenneth "Kenny" Dwight Gray Jr., we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, passion for sports, and unwavering devotion to family. His memory will forever be a source of comfort to those who knew him best-a reminder of the joy he brought into their lives.

May Kenny's enduring spirit continue to inspire all who were touched by his presence.
