Kenneth Heffner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 24, 2025.
Kenneth Frank Heffner, a devoted family man and passionate trucker, passed away on February 21, 2025, in Modesto, California. Born on July 2, 1949, in Modesto, Kenneth spent his life dedicated to his loved ones and the open road.

Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife, Katherine Heffner (And their 3 furbabies: Saige, Lizzie & Chloe); daughters Tanya Doty (Husband Gary & 2 Kids Christopher & Courtney), Corry Lefebvre (Husband Brett & 4 Kids Bryan, Kelly, Ryan & Logan); and sons Scott Heffner (Wife Nancy & 3 Kids Ethan, Caleb & Jordan), Aaron Heffner (Wife Trisha & 3 Kids Dakota, Kaylie & Jett) and Brandon Heffner (Partner Ralph Fankhauser). Family was always at the heart of Kenneth's life, and he cherished every moment spent with those he held dear.

A lifelong trucker, Kenneth found joy in traveling the highways and experiencing the freedom of the open road. His career behind the wheel was more than just a job-it was a passion that shaped much of his life. Beyond trucking, Kenneth had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether tending to his garden or simply enjoying nature's beauty out on his back porch, he took great pride in cultivating life from the soil.

Kenneth's journey was extended through an incredible act of love-the gift of a kidney donation from his daughter Tanya. This selfless gesture granted him many additional years to create cherished memories with family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on February 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 800 Sylvan Ave, Modesto, California, 95350.

Kenneth's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. May their memory bring comfort and strength to all who mourn his passing.

I met Ken at church when we were 16 and 18. We instantly became fast friends. I still cherish him today. I will always remember with fondness how kind he was to me, to a fault. He honestly did not have a mean bone in his body; as a teenager or adult. I was honored to be Kathy's Maid of Honor at their 1970 wedding - they were so excited to get married! I also have wonderful memories of Dee's (Ken's Mom) yummy breakfasts following our early morning Seminary class. I will miss Ken, but I am so glad he's no longer in pain. He was sure in his love for Kathy, children and grandchildren. He had a testimony of Jesus Christ. It doesn't get much better than that! Love to his family from an old family friend.
