Kenneth Hochstetler Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 31, 2024.
Kenneth Hochstetler, 58, longtime resident of Niantic, Ct, passed away on March 26, 2024. Born on April 14, 1965, in Wahiawa, Hawaii, Kenneth also known as "Ken," led a remarkable life filled with diverse experiences.

After graduating from Ledyard high school, Ken joined the Marine Corps, with his boot camp at Paris Island, SC. Following his service, he traveled extensively and discovered his passion for cooking. Ken pursued various ventures to support his culinary interests, including working on a ferry boat in New London, laboring on a lobster boat, driving a delivery truck, and managing Bent Nail Construction, where he remodeled homes in the New London area. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Kamp Dog, starting as a small cart on the beach in Niantic and culminating in the successful Kamp Dog in New London.

Ken was a generous soul who always lent a helping hand to his friends and community members. His kindness and willingness to assist others endeared him to many.

He is survived by his younger brother Ron, Ron's wife Laddie, their children Richard, Ashley, Calie, and June, along with his grandchildren in Texas.

A ceremony to honor Ken Hochstetler's life will be held on August 2, 2024. At Sub Vets in Groton

Calling Kenny to drive me home in a snow storm.... roads were bad and Kenny made fun of me being afraid to drive in the snow home by myself ...
If you knew Kenny he joked and poked fun at me the whole way home...it was his way of saying he liked you!!!
