Kenneth Hammond Irwin, known affectionately as Ken, passed away at the age of 68 on August 21, 2024, in Kingwood, Texas. Born on September 25, 1955, Ken dedicated four years of his life to the United States Navy, serving from 1974 to 1978 aboard a nuclear submarine, an experience that marked a significant chapter in his life.

Ken was a loving and devoted husband, brother, and son, remembered for his kindness and dedication to his family. He is survived by his wife, Jan Seabaugh; his mother, Matilda Boots Galli; and his sister, Trudy Atkins.

Beyond his military service, Ken was passionate about golfing and cruising, hobbies that brought him great joy and relaxation. His love for these activities was well-known among his friends and family, who often joined him on the green or while cruising the open waters.

A service to honor Ken's life and legacy will be held at Houston National Cemetery, located at 10410 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. The arrangements are being handled by Birdsong Cremations in Kingwood, TX.

Ken's life was marked by his service, both to his country and to those he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Always enjoyed Ken´s voice on WBCK Coaches Corner Battle Creek Michigan. He was also the voice of The Balloon Festiful over the 4th of July annual
Event. My sincere sympathy to his family and friends.

USS John Adams SSBN 620 , Shared an Apartment in Elliot Me and a house in Charleston SC, lost track of Ken after he left the Navy. Road trip to Montreal
in his VW bug was a blast. I´m saddened to hear of his passing, I´m sorry I didn´t try harder to catch up with him. He was a good shipmate and friend.

Dear Jan, family and friends of Ken,
On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at Ken´s passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow "Bubblehead" departs on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor on the USS John Adams SSBN-620.
To our "Brother-of-the-Phin" we say, "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas." Thank you for your service to our country.
Jan and family... "may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you." 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (ESV).

Ken was a wonderful man who was so easy to talk to. My kids always enjoyed seeing him. The best part was how happy he made my aunt and the wonderful memories they made together. He was always willing to make the drive anytime there was a celebration or family gathering and made sure everyone had a good time. We´ll miss him dearly!

Ken loved to party! He especially loved the Zwolle Tamale Festival that we celebrated at my uncle's farm. Here is at the farm enjoying riding the four-wheeler.
