NUSSER KENNETH ROBERTS
73, of Charlotte, passed away on Wednesday, October 3 at Presbyterian Matthews surrounded by his family. Born February 21, 1934 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Kenneth was the son of the late Letty Sahr and William R. Nusser. A Mass of Christian burial will be held today at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Day Chapel, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte at 11:00 a.m. with Monsignor John J. McSweeney celebrant. Burial at Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews will be immediately following the Mass. As a native of Pittsburgh, Kenneth loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, playing golf and being a member of the Elks. He received his B.S. from Indiana University at Pennsylvania, his Masters in Education from Westminister College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, and his D.Ed from Akron University in Akron Ohio. From 1956 to 1958 Kenneth proudly served his Country as a member of the United States Army, serving in Japan. Kenneth was proud to be a teacher, educator and mentor to many as he served as an Assistant Superintendent in the Mars Area School District in Mars, PA. His survivors include his wife and best friend Nancy, their three children and their spouses: Mary Lou Moore and husband Robert of Charlotte, Sue Ann Cox and husband Brian of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and William R. Nusser and wife Laura of Mooresville. Seven grandchildren are left to cherish the memory of their grandfather, Brendan Moore, Colin Moore, Meghan Moore, Brianne Cox, Hayley Nusser, Kenneth Nusser and Catherine Nusser. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions to St. Matthew Catholic Church, Education Fund, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28227. The Nusser family is in the care of HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME Weddington Chapel."At the Sunset of Life, We Care"
