A memorial service for Kenneth Lyle Parry, 74, of Agness, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at the old Masonic Lodge, on the corner of Moore and Mary streets, in Gold Beach. Dr. Charles L. Heuser will officiate.

Ken was born April 29, 1931, in Myrtle Point, to Floyd and Iva Lorene (White) Parry. He died Feb. 24, 2006, between Agness and Gold Beach.

He graduated from Myrtle Point High School in 1949. Ken had a career as a log scaler for Columbia Bureau and Log Scaling, and retired after 20 years of service. He moved to Curry County 30 years ago.

Ken married Marian LaVerne Elliot in Agness on July 4, 1975. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a Hillah shriner.

Ken enjoyed fishing, hunting, being with his family and building custom fishing poles, which he gave to disadvantaged children at the Easter Seals Camp of Oregon.

He is survived by his wife of Agness; son, Bruce Parry of Coos Bay; daughter, Rhonda Parry of Gold Beach; sons, Joe Parry of Florence, Ross Martinka of Italy, Randy and Russell Roberts, both of Gold Beach, and Richard Roberts of Eagle Point; daughters, Sharon Sutphin of Yorktown, Va., Renita Confer of Gold Beach and Lisa Hester of Canby; and 18 grandchildren.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Edward.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Camp Angelos/Camp Easter Seals, 5757 S.W. Macadam Ave., Portland, OR 97239.

Arrangements are under the direction of Redwood Memorial Chapel and Crematory in Brookings, (541) 469-9112.
