Dale Reginald Lamere

Dale Reginald Lamere, 70, well known businessman of Island Pond, VT passed away suddenly on August 7, 2013 in Island Pond, VT. He was born June 4, 1943 in Stewartstown, NH, the son of Reginald and Elizabeth Boutin Lamere. He graduated from Brighton High School in 1961. Dale was a building contractor and owned and operated Dale Lamere Building and Roofing in Island Pond, VT. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He held memberships with the American Legion Post 80 of Island Pond, VT where he was past commander and he was also an advisory board member of the Community National Bank. Dale was an avid snowmobiler and loved boating on the Island Pond Lake where he loved to spend time with his family and friends. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren, and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, father-in-law, and friend to everyone. He enjoyed tinkering around his home and was always willing to offer a helping hand. He coached little league baseball, and was an active member of the community.
He is survived by his wife Diane Worth Lamere of Island Pond, VT, by his children: Reg Lamere and his wife Julie of Newton, NH, Brian Lamere of South Burlington, VT, and Lisa Lamere Niedzielski and her husband Peter of Georgetown, MA, by his grandchildren: Ila, Adele, Elsa, Lucy, Nicholas, and Andrew. He is also survived by his sister Sandra Philbrick and her husband Jack of Concord, NH and by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Sunday August 11, 2013 from 4-7 P.M. at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 1199 Railroad Street, Island Pond, VT. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday August 12, 2013 at St. James Catholic Church in Island Pond where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Island Pond, VT with full military honors.
