Kenneth Ricker Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 8, 2025.
Kenneth "Kenny" Ricker, of Odenton, MD passed away suddenly on July 3, 2025. Kenny was born in Columbia, MD on March 9, 1981. Raised in Baltimore County, Kenny was a 1999 graduate of Owings Mills High School. He attended San Diego State University and earned a bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering.

Kenny took great pride in his work as a Superintendent with Clark Construction where he was considered a field leader and mentor to many. Throughout his career, he earned a reputation for his calm and level-headed leadership, which was exemplified by his drive, patience, focus, and fairness. Kenny took pride in teaching the next generation of builders. Kenny's 14-year career spanned Clark entities and product types, and included some of Greater Washington's most complex projects, such as Suburban Hospital Campus Enhancement Phase 2, Eager Park, Midtown Center, and WMATA Escalator Canopies and Stair Replacement. Most recently, Kenny was helping lead construction on the BWI Concourse A/B Connector and Baggage Handling System project.

A lover of sports, Kenny was a high school 12-season athlete, and even while living on the West Coast, he stayed loyal to his Baltimore hometown teams, the Ravens and Orioles. Kenny was the definition of a foodie, who often woke up before dawn to smoke meat to perfection. On the weekends, when hosting family and friends, he loved sharing his passion using his smoker, grill, or pizza oven- sometimes all three! A guy who could do it all, Kenny spent time making his house a home, with meticulous renovations, additions, and landscaping. He was a doting dog dad to his much-loved lab Grayson.

Kenny was the man that everyone could rely on (and did). He had a calming influence that made people gravitate around him. He exhibited kindness to all, and there is no one that could give a better bear hug or flash a more infectious smile.

Kenny was the beloved husband of Lauren Ricker, the love of his life. Also surviving him are parents Kathleen and Michael Gelman and Keith and Susan Ricker, mother-in-law Randy Levin, brothers Michael Ricker (Tracy) and Kevin Ricker (Sara), sisters Samantha Pasley (Kenny) and Jaime Gacon (Dustin), Grandfather Charles Feaga, nieces Jasmine, Jordyn, Sydney, Natalie, Katherine, and Hazel, nephews Noah, Ryder, and Crew as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Kenny, will miss him dearly.

A Celebration of Kenny's life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 1-4 pm at 1623 Brewery, 5975 Exchange Drive, Eldersburg, MD 21784.

Kenny, this message is hard to write. Your passing- so unexpected. It´s hard to accept. I am praying for everyone who knew you, especially family. I´ve known you since 9th grade. We had weight lifting class together and that´s how I got to know you the most. You were always so cheerful and always had a smile on your face. You were everyone´s friend. Thru the years even past high school, you stayed a good friend and a great person to many. You were a very special kind soul. You are loved and missed.

When I read the news, I couldn´t believe it and still don´t. No matter what, Kenny always had a smile and a kind word. I never heard a negative word out of his mouth about anyone. He is someone that even if you didn´t talk to in years, you would never ever forgot. I am so very sorry for this huge loss.

I was beyond saddened to have heard about the loss of Kenny. One of the few people who always had a smile on his face- you could always joke around with him and any time I was around him, we were always laughing. Even years later at reunions, you'd pick back up with him as if no time had passed. My condolences to his entire family, especially Jaime- I know how important he was to you as a brother and friend.
