Kenneth Shelly

Kenneth L. Shelly, 85, of Van Buren, AR, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in his home. He was born November 13, 1926 in Van Buren, AR. He was a boiler operator for the City of Fort Smith and retired from St. Edwards Hospital where he worked as a boiler operator and attended Concord Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Bessie Shelly; two infant sons, Kenneth Donavon Shelly and Billie Nelson Shelly.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Alvena "Jimmie" Shelly of the home; two daughters, Sheila Randolph of Alma, AR and Melissa Shelly of Van Buren, AR; two sons, Michael Shelly and his wife Hiromi of Van Buren, AR and Charles Shelly and his wife Pam of Van Buren, AR; a sister, Druscilla White of Van Buren, AR; a brother, Herbert Shelly of Van Buren, AR; nine grandchildren, William Shelly of Tulsa, OK, Linda Shelly of Fayetteville, AR, Tim Randolph of Van Buren, AR, Bert Randolph of Alma, AR, Eric Randolph of Alma, AR, Charity Shelly of Van Buren, AR, Christopher Shelly of Van Buren, AR, Hannah Mondal of Van Buren, AR, Ericka Shelly of Van Buren, AR; and nine great-grandchildren, Brianna Jones, Lisa Randolph, Eston Randolph, Haley Randolph, Christopher Randolph, Allen Randolph, Rebekah Randolph, Grace Randolph and Faith Randolph.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 26, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren, AR with burial at Alma Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Tim Randolph, Eric Randolph, Eston Randolph, Chris Randolph, William Shelly and Christopher Shelly.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bert Randolph, Onis Few, Paul Linton, Francisco Patino and LeeRay Cate.

The family will receive friends 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren, AR.
