Kenneth C. Sukanovich

Kenneth C. Sukanovich, 72, of Lower Burrell, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017, in his home with his beloved wife Marion at his side after a long battle with cancer. Ken was born Feb. 12, 1945, and was one of four siblings. He attended New Mexico Institute of Science and Technology, where he earned a degree in mathematical engineering. He did a tour in the Army during the Vietnam War, where he served as part of the Elite Honor Guard. Shortly after, he was hired by Kmart, where he worked for more than 35 years earning numerous accolades and awards for his hard work, professionalism and dedication. He also worked for CVS Caremark and was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lower Burrell. Ken is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marion Kenyon Sukanovich; two daughters, Wendee Sukanovich (Mark Morgan), of Stafford, Va., Kristee (Gordie) Morgan, of Genoa, N.Y.; two granddaughters, Samantha and Alexandria Morgan; sister, Dorothy Stein, of Ligonier. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy M. and Anna Starr Sukanovich; brother, Robert Sukanovich; and sister, Audrey Hensel.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder St., where prayers of transfer will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday followed by Christian funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Church. Burial with military honors by the Army will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park, Indiana Township.
