Montville - Kenneth J. Sylvia Jr., 68, of Uncasville, husband of Frances (Rose) Sylvia, died on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, after a brief illness.

He was born on March 31, 1943 in New London, the son of the late Kenneth J. Sr. and Victoria (Sobieski) Sylvia. Kenneth was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, having worked as a window clerk at the Waterford Post Office for many years. Being a gun collector and model train enthusiast he was the owner of K&J Guns and a co-owner of Trackside in Uncasville.

In addition to his wife Frances, he is survived by his children, Kimberly Swabby of North Carolina, Kenneth J. Sylvia III and wife, Tammie, of Delaware and Kris McKinney and husband, Mark, of South Carolina; grandchildren, Joshua, Trevor, Mallorie, Mary Kate, Caroline, Megan and Taylor; and a brother, Robert Sylvia and wife, Diane, of Ledyard.

Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 11 Jerome Road, Uncasville, is in charge of private arrangements.
