Kenneth Richard Toney, 63 of Garland, Texas, passed away on April 24, 2022, after an arduous journey with cancer. Ken was born on March 24, 1959 to Orville Richard and Peggy Jean Matheny Toney in Columbia, Mississippi. Ken was a product of GISD, and was a mighty fighting Garland Owl, where he was known for his athleticism in multiple sports. Upon leaving school, Ken had many roles, and was known as a Jack of all Trades. However, he mastered the art of Transportation, and ended his career as a Company Driver with Transco Lines, Inc. In 1983, Ken was blessed with the arrival of his son Kristopher Richard Toney. In 1990, Ken met Johanna Solorzano at her sister Ruth's house in Wylie, Tx. Ruth is also the wife of Ken's best friend Nick Thierfielder. Ken and Johanna married on August 18, 1993, and went on to have two beautiful daughters, Torie Danielle and Tiffanie Rene Toney. Ken was an avid outdoorsman and could be found spending time at area Lakes with a fishing rod in hand. Ken was predeceased by his father, Richard Toney, maternal grandparents Florence and Curtis Matheny, and paternal grandparents Emmitt and Courean Toney. He is survived by his loving wife, Johanna, daughters Torie and Tiffanie Toney, son Kristopher Toney (Andrea), grandchildren Elizabeth and Titus Toney, Mother Peggy Toney, sister Pam Toney Wade, nieces Paxton and Presley Wade, brother-in law Clay Wade, and a host of other family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, Texas on Saturday, April 30th at 2:00 pm. Link to Live Stream https://vimeo.com/user165307437
