Mr. Kenneth Lamar Townsend, age 58, of Fairmount, Georgia, departed this life Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Cartersville Medical Center in Cartersville GA surrounded by his loving family. Kenneth was born December 4, 1953 in Fairmount GA. Kenneth was born a son of the late Walter Bud and Ella Mulkey Townsend. Kenneth is survived by his wife Karen Townsend of the residence. Sons and daughter in laws; T.L. and Faith Townsend of Rydall, GA, Jody and Sheena Townsend of Talking Rock, GA, John and Katherine Townsend of Calhoun, GA. Kenneth had six grandchildren: Taylor Townsend, Liam Townsend, Madison Townsend, Riley Townsend, Natalie Townsend and Summer Jordon. Kenneth is also survived by brother and sister in law: Richard and Marsha Townsend of Fairmount GA, Sisters and brother in laws: Linda and Roger Evans of Fairmount, GA and Gail and Jeff Lacey of Fairmount, GA. Services to celebrate the life of Kenneth Lamar Townsend will be held at Fairmount Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Tuesday March 20, 2012 with Pastor Reggie Temples officiating. Music will be provided by Sally Jones. Serving as pall bearers will be: Timmy Jenkins, Scotty Childers, Chad Young, Raymond Young, Clay Townsend and Josh Parker.
