THERE IS NOT A DAY THAT GOES BY WHERE I DO NOT THINK ABOUT MY BELOVED BROTHER KEN FROM ANOTHER MOTHER. Ken, I love talking to you, asking your advice, hearing you laugh, being by my side. You have never "left" us, you are still laughing at our missteps and idocy, but with only the warmth and love that always defined YOU. Save a spot for us, my beloved brother. I love you always and forever, as does Beans. Billy from Philly

Dear Linda and the Van Hook Family,
I have been blessed with the opportunity to know and work with Ken since 1994. He was truly a man of God and a man of his word. I always looked forward to seeing him at our annual B56 meetings and most recently, working with him on some product litigation. Ken will be missed by all who knew and worked with him. Rest assured that Ken has heard God's precious words, "Well done, good and and faithful servant" (Matt. 25:21, 23).

Dear Van Hook Family,
I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Ken on behalf of MCFA over many years. Not only was he the most knowledgeable person in the room but he was also the most likeable. Everyone always enjoyed his company. At every conference, there was always a crowd around Ken. He was a man of genuine honor and integrity and will be missed by all of his colleagues. I will keep your family in my prayers that you will know the comfort that only God Himself can provide.

Dear Diana and Family,
So sorry to hear about Kenny Ray.
I have wonderful memories of growing up with Kenny from FHCC, Boy Scouts and achieving the Eagle award together, playing in the band at North High, and much more.
I recall the thrill of carrying our fishing gear while riding on the back of Kenny's Honda out to the "NO FISHING" spot that he liked at Mogadore Reservoir.
Ken was the first entrepreneur I knew, mowing lawns, repairing and selling old mowers, then the tool business, purchasing The Hobby Shop, etc. He was not afraid to take a risk!
He was a great role model for me. I miss him.
Heartfelt sympathy,
Gary Grissett

Dear Van Hook Family,
My family grew up with Kenny and we have such wonderful memories of him. I loved the practical jokes he played on my dad and brothers -- like the street sign he pounded into our yard, right outside my parent's bedroom window, or the duck he accidentally caught with his fishing pool and left in our yard and the polecats he'd have neighborhood kids looking for...especially me! We attended the same little neighborhood church together (where the boy scouts gathered & Kenny was an Eagle Scout with my brother and my dad was the Scoutmaster of Troop 8) before he moved away. When I heard Kenny was coming to town, I looked forward to him stopping by my parents house and hearing hysterical stories of the past. Kenny was a good man and will be missed by many.
Our sincere condolences,
The Grissett Family

He had a way of making each person feel special. He has made such a positive impact on my life. I am grateful and humbled to have known Ken. We will continue to keep your family in our prayers.

I met Ken when I came to work for Nippon Express Travel in 1995. Ken always had a smile and as we all know a great sense of humor. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of GOD. Your playing small does not serve the world.
Ken never played small. He worked hard and by the family photos he played just as hard. You will be missed.
My sincere condolences to the Van Hook family and may God walk beside you during this difficult time.

My hearts and prayers go out to the entire family during this time. Losing a loved one is never easy but knowin that he is no longer in pain is a blessing. I will always remember Mr. VanHook as the man who had the best Christmas light display ever, even dressing up as Santa and handing out candy canes to eveyone who drive past his house. And that one time that he had me help John hang them up. It was an honor to know such a wonderful man, husband, father, and grandfather.

My first experience with Ken was at the MCFA Legal Conference in Vegas a few years ago. He knew everything there was to know about lift trucks. It was impressive to listen to him talk - he made it interesting and entertaining. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him professionally and I would imagine all who knew him personally. It was hard to learn of his illness and how it robbed him of his ability to live life to the fullest. I hope that the Van Hook family can feel the comfort and peace found in the arms of Jesus...My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Linda and Van Hook Family,
Please accept our condolences on the loss of Ken.
We will always remember his infectious enthusiasm for life, his impact on other people, his wicked sense of humor, his incredible intellect, and his creativity. Most significantly, we will recall that no matter the work or other demands on his time and everyone always wanted to be around him -- he always made it clear that his family came first.
We will pray that G_d bless and keep Ken, you, and your whole family and give you peace.

I am so saddened by the news of Ken's passing; but, at the same time, happy that he is at peace. I met Ken through my work with MFCA and grew to know him not only as a "go to" resource for all things related to lift truck operation and design, but as a loving and devout family man with a heart as big as his personality and a wicked sense of humor. He is solely responsible for what little success I ever enjoyed at the MCFA forklift Rodeo. Defending material handling equipment will never be the same. Van Hook family -- your are in my thoughts and prayers.
