Kent Hugh Johnston, 84, died March 26, 2015, in Portland, Ore.
Kent was born July 14, 1930, to Hugh Sinclair Johnston and Helen Patrick Johnston of Moody, Idaho.
He attended area schools and graduated from Sugar-Salem High School in Sugar City.
Kent enlisted in the Navy in 1950 and was attached to the Naval Communications facility in the Philippines.
After Navy service, he became a school teacher then returned to school at Reed College in Portland and graduated as a physicist.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; son, Bryan and wife, Jean; daughter, Christine and sisters; Shirley Squires of Archer, Idaho and Beverly Wilding of Mapleton, Utah.
