Kevin (KJ) Higbee-Cooke Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 31, 2025.
Kevin Gary Higbee-Cooke, known affectionately as KJ and Pookie, passed away on January 21, 2025, in Rosenberg, Texas, just shy of his 33rd birthday. Born on January 23, 1992, KJ embraced life with a joyful spirit and a deep love for his family and friends.

KJ's life was marked by his unwavering happiness and his profound love for his wife, Jessi, and their children, Tilly, Leena, Nicholas, Lexi and Sophia. He also loved his eldest daughter Amilia Tudor (Ashley Tudor). His capacity to spread joy and his dedication to his family were the cornerstones of his life.

He is survived by a loving family that includes his father, Kevin (Debbie) Higbee; his mother, Julia Cooke; his grandparents Gary & Karen Cooke; grandparents James & Sheila Rhodes; father-in-law Modesto Arriaga, and mother-in-law Ana Arriaga; his siblings Jamie Cooke, Austin Higbee, Cody (Dakoda) Cooke, and Rick Sheldon. He was a cherished husband to Jessi Higbee and a devoted father. KJ was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clifford and Doris Higbee, and his great-grandmother & great-grandfather Noyce, and brother-in-law, Thomas Evans and dear family friend, Michael Shane Miller.

KJ's passions extended beyond his family life. He was an avid outdoorsman who cherished camping, hunting, and fishing. His love for these activities was only matched by his enthusiasm for sharing them with others, ensuring memorable experiences for family and friends alike. KJ also had a notable fondness for the music of E-40, which he loved to share with those around him.

A Christian Mass will be held in Texas to honor KJ's life. Additionally, a celebration of life will be held on February 8, 2025 from 1-4 pm at LDS Ward 1155 North 1200 West in Rose Park, Northeast Entrance where friends and family can gather to remember him and the joy he brought into their lives.

KJ's life was a testament to the power of joy, family, and friendship. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love and happiness will undoubtedly endure through the many lives he touched.

Kevin is my nephew. It was so wonderful to be able to aphishiate his marriage to Jessi. I saw great love between them. His love for the children is a beautiful thing.

Kevin has been one of my best friends since we were kids. He was the best man at my wedding. I will never forget the joys and comfort that he brought to my life. On days where everything felt so bleak, he could manage to put a smile on my face and make me forget for a moment that there was anything wrong. I loved him like a brother. Be at peace Kev, I love you man.

Kevin is my Great Nephew and I consider him a friend as well as part of my family. He loved his family and friends and was always fun to be around and chat about anything over a meal. I'll miss seeing and chatting with him!
