Kevin McCART Obituary
April 27, 1957 - June 29, 2017
Words cannot express our sadness with the loss of Kevin, who passed suddenly at the age of 60 years. Kevin found ultimate happiness with Shelley Painer. Loving and devoted father of Meagan, and Liam, and stepfather of Dustin, Ryan, Thomas, and Kyla. Predeceased by his parents Clara and D'Arcy McCart and his sister Shelley Zurcher. Wonderful brother to D'Arcine Thompson, Tim (Donna), and Maureen (Claude) Martin. Dear brother-in-law of Jurg Zurcher. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered as an amazing uncle, cousin and friend. A special thank you to the emergency 911 personnel and to the staff at The Ottawa Hospital, General Campus for their compassionate care. Kevin was the family's cornerstone, his life was filled with selfless acts to make each of our lives happier. He always had time for everyone and made each person in his life feel special to him.

We were heartbroken to hear the news. I met Kevin when I was just starting by career and he hired me to work at RSI - he used to save my expense-reports as his Friday afternoon's entertainment - he'd methodically deny all the entertaining I'd occasionally try to slip-by; chuckle and call me a giant dork. I am very lucky to have had the opportunity to share so much fun and laughter over the years since we first met; he was a respected mentor and a better friend. We are going to miss him so much.

MY Dear McCart FAMILY and CLAN..I was SOO sorry to get D'Arcines 's phone message when I got home late last niht from a weeks trip to Perryvale, I cannot compute this sad and untimely event. I will never forget how kind Kevin was towards me when we worked together at RSI. He always made sure I was looked after and he never failed to make me laugh. Without Kevin, I would not have met Derek and for that I am truly grateful. My love goes out to Kevin's family. He will be so very missed.

My deepest condolences to you on the loss of such a kind, engaging and positive part of your family. Kevin was a trusted colleague who I turned to for guidance many times over the course of the past decade. Without fail, he always had a smile, an optimistic view of the future and he always made time for me. I don't know what more you could ask for and I can only believe that he extended the same (and more) to his closest friends and family. His sudden departure is an immeasurable loss to you, as well as to all of us who looked to him for his friendship and steadying calm in the face of challenging times. My heart was broken when I heard the news. I send special prayers out to Shelley and the entire McCart family. Kevin was the light of our curling team and we shared such great laughs and stories - I will never forget his kindness and his patience as we spend many Friday night curling or trying to curl. Kevin will be deeply missed.
