Age 55 - Lake Wales, FL

It is with profound sadness that we unexpectantly announce the passing of Kevin Perkins on August 7, 2025, in Riverview, FL at the age of 55.

Kevin was born on April 14, 1970, in Brooklyn, NY. Kevin was the son of Leroy Perkins Sr. and Mary Perkins (Gleason). Around 1972 Kevin moved with his family to Winchester VA, and shortly thereafter to Fulton MS. Finally, in 1980 Kevin found home when his family moved to Eagle Lake, FL when he was ten years old. Kevin loved the area, never again leaving Polk County.

Kevin, a graduate of Winter Haven High School, grew up playing and loving all sports. He especially loved playing football and softball, and watching / attending Bucs, Rays, and Gators games. A music lover, Kevin loved listening to rock n roll music, especially southern rock and heavy metal, with Lynyrd Skynyrd being a lifelong favorite.

Preceded in death by his parents, Kevin is survived by his brother Leroy Perkins Jr., of Bartow, FL, sister Kathleen Labonte (Perkins), of Mulberry, FL, brother-in-law Christopher Labonte, of Mulberry, FL, nephew Joshua Pulver and wife Analeigh Pulver, of Gainesville, FL, nephew Matthew Pulver and wife Sarah Pulver of St. Petersburg, FL, nephews London and Luke, and niece Lily Labonte of Mulberry, FL, and great-nephews Liam and Theo Pulver of Gainesville, FL. Kevin is also survived by numerous cousins and extended family members.

Kevin spent the last ten years of his life working for Hubbard Construction, a company he loved. He transported heavy construction equipment throughout Central Florida and thoroughly enjoyed the life of being a lowboy truck driver. Hubbard was his second family.

At work or with family and friends, Kevin enjoyed using his sarcasm and wit to needle others. Masterful in his art, others were unsure of his intentions until he smiled and chuckled, and only then his plan was complete, and you couldn't help but smile also. Kevin loved family get-togethers, whether it was corn beef and cabbage, or a seafood boil, one could always count Kevin in. He loved spending time with his family, especially on camping trips with his sister Kathleen, so he could brighten the lives of London, Luke, and Lily with his gravelly, chuckling laugh, and his big bear hug. One thing Kevin always wore was a smile. Every time you saw him, he had one on, and you couldn't help but wear one too.

As we remember Kevin, we remember the man he was, and how he would want to be remembered; what he would want us to do and not do. This is for him. The family would like everyone to remember the happiness Kevin always brought into everyone's life. While we have sorrow, we can find comfort in the fact that we were lucky enough to share time with a special man, a man whose heart was filled with love for all. The family has planned a Celebration of Life to be held September 6, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at The Retreat at Camp Margaritaville Auburndale, 361 Denton Ave, Auburndale, FL 33823. All who knew and loved Kevin are invited to attend.

Well, my time with you, Kevin, it goes way back to the day you were born. I thought, wow, i'm gonna get another baby doll to play with so 55 years of having you just doesn't seem enough. You were deeply loved by everyone & many will miss you, but we know we'll all get to be together again one day .. until then, rest in peace, my sweet Cuzzie
