I remember loving your Christmas cards of a deeply close and loving family. They represented, for me, the ideal American family and I looked forward to them each year. And hearing my sister Marion, his grandmother's, adoration of this gentle soul, this kind boy whom she loved without boundaries. I was always touched by her sweet affection toward him. His was an open heart that he gave generously to those around him.

Lisa, it seems like only yesterday that we were both pregnant with our sons and now they are both gone. There are no words to describe the pain of losing a child and unfortunately we are both having to experience this. No parent should have to bury their child; it is such a tragedy and a parent's worst nightmare. We are here for you and you are in our prayers. Our hearts go out to you, Alan and David.

Putney Family,

I would like to express my condolences to you and the rest of your family. I remember Kevin as a youngster from Summer Recreation at Noah Wallace and West District. I have forgotten many names and faces from those days, but I will always remember Kevin as one of my favorite campers. May you find strength and serenity during this time of sadness.

Lisa, Alan, and David, it seems simply impossible and so very wrong that people with so much love and goodness would have to endure such an unthinkable loss. Kevin's years were far too short, but I think you gave him a lifetime of love, energy, family togetherness, laughter, and caring about him in those 19 years. You are such a wonderful family, and every moment that you nurtured Kevin and helped him develop into the gentle, wonderful person he was was love with a great purpose. My thoughts are with your family in this terrible sorrow.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Putney family at this time.

As the parents of a sophomore at Vanderbilt whose son is also a Math and CS major, we were shocked and grief stricken when Andrew called us with the news.

He had spoken to Kevin numerous times before a class they took together this semester and spoke with him as recently as the day before Kevin's passing.

My son, like everyone else has said was how great of a kid Kevin was.

Our deepest sympathies at this trying time.
