Such a great guy!!! I didn't have a relationship with Kevin at all outside of being in High School at NFA. However, with that said he certainly was always very kind to me and was my go-to for respectful humor. Per his obituary, sounds as if Kevin made a difference as a family man, professional and in the community. He left a positive footprint while here on earth. As far as premature and unexpected death goes, my grandmother always used to say "God takes the good ones first." May Kevin Rest in Peace. ☮

Kevin was one of the IT people I supported when I worked in Corporate Procurement at Aetna in the early and mid-2000s'. He was a good guy, who while soft spoken could get his point across. Sorry to see him pass away.

Our deepest and sincere condolences go out to the Sweeney family. I knew Kevin when he first started working at Aetna and ended up working for him for 13+ years. He was not only the boss, but a good friend. He always enjoyed the staff summer parties in Madison and my family always enjoyed hosting those events. Rest in peace my friend. Kevin was much more than a customer. He was a friend. I worked closely with him from the time he joined the Aetna team to the present as one of his key IT suppliers. We had a mutual connection to Boston College and every time we met the conversation would always evolve into a discussion of BC football or basketball or one of the many events there. I will miss him dearly.

Kristen, though we haven't met, Kevin talked about you very often. He was so proud of you and upon viewing a text composed by you, it is evident to anyone how much you truly loved your father. Anyone could instantly know when Kevin was "in the house" his singing was his presence to be acknowledged!
I offer you the power of an Irish prayer: "Those we love don't go away, They walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard but always near, Still loved, still missed and very dear." Your dad was a "special guy" beloved by all who knew him.

Kevin, you were such a smart, caring, fun loving guy that laughed at his own goofy jokes. For whatever reason you nicknamed Burtty at work. I loved how your face lit up when you spoke about your daughter Kristen. I named my own daughter Kristen as well. Being a father was your biggest joy and you will continue to watch over Kristen and your grandchildren from afar. May wonderful, funny memories sustain Kristen and your family for many years to come. ❤

Kevin was an advocate for a good life. He always made sure people were ok first, then came business. So many walks and talks with this special guy. He helped to shape many lives with positivity and love. Whether at the Irish American home relaxed or in a critical business situation, Kevin would always approach things with a unique humor that was clear simple and to the point. He would probably make a joke right now to break the ice and take away the sadness we hold. Kindness is king and Kevin was a master of it. My love goes to his family at their great loss. God Bless.

So sorry. Nancy was a longtime Aetna associate of Kevin, partnering on many projects. But also just friends.
Unfortunately, Nancy has FTD and has lost her memory. We are part of Mass General's FTD dementia support groups - they are fantastic. We believe they served Kevin well, too.
I also worked with Kevin .. he was a dynamo!

Thinking of Kevin, his daughter Kristen, his mom and all his siblings during this difficult time. Having worked for Kevin for 15+ years, he is another from our "Aetna family" gone too soon. So many fond memories of our holiday luncheons at La Cantina, non-work get togethers in Madison, AE ski club trips to Canada and day bus trips to Vermont. This was my favorite time of year when Kevin would share vegetables from his garden with all of us! Kevin was so much more than a boss but a friend. Rest in peace Kevin.
