of Kirkwood
Deputy Kevin J. Tarsia, 36, had his life taken in the line of duty on July 4, 2002. He was the beloved son of Phillip and Martha Tarsia, Windsor, N.Y.; brother of Daniel Tarsia, Windsor, Thomas Tarsia, Binghamton, Steven Tarsia and his fiance, Lisa Allard, Kirkwood, Cecilia T. Tarsia, Chenango Forks, Sharon Tarsia, Endwell; nieces and nephews, Daniel and Shelly Tarsia and daughter, Mallory, Harpursville, Kristy and Jamie McWherter, Harpursville, Colin Tarsia, Kirkwood, Donnie and Brian Tarsia, Chenango Forks, Jared Tarsia and Amber and Stephanie Bennett, Endwell. He is also survived by his fiancee, Christi-Ann Ciccone and her children, Amanda, Daniel, Dustin, and Dmitri, Kirkwood; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and his beloved animals, Buddy, Texas, Misty, Sinbad, and Mable. He was a graduate of Windsor High School and Broome COmmunity College. He was a Deputy Sheriff for Broome County for 13 years. He gave everything to his family and his job. He was dedicated to his community, to keep it safe, even giving his life. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at 9:45 a.m. at the James V. DeMarco and Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson , N.Y. followed at 10:30 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home, Monday, July 8, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations in Kevin's name may be made to the Kevin Tarsia Memorial Fund, c/o Visions Credit Union, 24 McKinley Ave., Endicott, N.Y. 13760.
