Kim Ciafardoni Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 31, 2025.
Kim Ciafardoni Carvalho, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on May 21, 2025, at the young age of 66. Born on June 11, 1958, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Kim lived a life defined by compassion, selflessness, resilience, and unwavering devotion to those around her.

Growing up in the Highlands, Kim was a proud graduate of Lynn English High School. She dedicated her professional life to serving others as a nursing aide. In her role, she provided exceptional care to her patients with a level of empathy and attentiveness that left a lasting impression on all who encountered her. Her work was not just a job-it was an extension of her deeply rooted desire to nurture and support others.

Kim's selflessness was evident in every aspect of her life. She consistently placed the needs of others before her own and approached each day positively with a caring heart while retaining her steadfast spirit. Whether offering a calm ear or standing firm when needed, she embodied unparalleled strength wrapped in gentleness. Her ability to face life's challenges with patience, power and dignity inspired those around her and reflected the heroic nature of her character.

Family was at the center of Kim's world. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Jaimie Barboza; son Andrew Ciafardoni; mother Roberta Smith Fuller; father Frank Carvalho (preceded); sister Diane McLaughlin; twin brother Frank Carvalho; 3 grandchildren Nickolas Andrew Barboza, Angelina Kim Barboza, Alexander Richard Barboza, and their father Rick Barboza. She also held very close the memory of her lifelong partner James Imperial, who preceded her in death. Kim also leaves behind so many nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives among friends. Sadly she was taken too soon but she had made her peace with God.

Kim cherished time spent with her grandchildren above all else. She was hopeful to see them grow up, graduate and was beyond grateful she did. Whether cheering on NFL games or quietly reading and taking notes about medicine, sports and affirmations; she found joy in both the simple moments and the shared experiences that brought her closer to those she loved.

Kim just celebrated her 20th anniversary quitting smoking April 1st. This was a near impossible feat she held dearly in her heart among ours. Quitting cold turkey when she was diagnosed with her first cancer preserved her life. Unfortunately her cancers never fully disappeared which furthered 20+ diagnosis, treatment and surgeries over the years. Defying all odds Kim thrived for 17 years with one lung, happy and strong with no restrictions. She fought her battles few and far between while always being our rock. Her decline over the past few months was fast and we are grateful she did not suffer. Her devotion to Catholicism is how Kim found her strength and solace throughout her life. Her beliefs guided her actions and offered comfort during difficult times. Kim's legacy is one of boundless love, compassion, strength, and enduring grace. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. She will carry on through all of us and will never be forgotten.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 5th, 2025, 9AM within Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake Street in Peabody, MA. Proceeding the Memorial we will celebrate one truly heroic life at Fox Hill Yacht Club in Saugus, MA. All are welcome.

Kim was like a second mom to me when I was in elementary school. I was always over the house in the morning and after school. I would go to school with Jaimie. Kim was always there to help me with "kid stuff". I felt so safe and loved. I am so heartbroken by the news. Even as an adult on social media, Kim was always asking about my life and my daughter. My heart goes out to the whole family. She was such an amazing person. So kind and giving.

Words can't express how heartbroken and sad Brad and I are over the passing of Kimmy. She was more than a friend and more like family to us. My Sissy from another Missy, and Brad's favorite dance partner. I will miss her surprise visits to my work, when she was in the area, and all the laughter that went with it. That laugh!!! I will truly miss her big laugh and bigger heart . I also will miss our talks about the Pats and Tommy during football season. Lastly, Brad and I want to say how heartbroken we are for Andrew, Jamie, Bobbie, Diane, Frank and Cheri, Rick, her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Rest in peace Sissy

Kim was my friend for many years! We had many great times together and lost touch for awhile, but through Social Media we reconnected and it gave us the way to see our kids grow up and grandchildren too! She was a kind, compassionate, beautiful person, and friend! I will miss our texts and her smile and laugh! I am so saddened for her passing! Too young, too soon ! Rest in peace my friend, you will be missed! Hugs to her family!
