Kim Gillian Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 25, 2016.
GILLIAN Kim, (“Kim G.”) was born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 13, 1954. He met his untimely departure peacefully at home on February 16, 2016. He was an only child born to the late Phyllis He was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Brighton High School. He was a hardworking, jack of many trades and held many jobs throughout his life. He worked for Department of Youth Services, Gillette Corporation and a home for disabled adults. He was first and foremost a family man and doting father who adored all of his kids. He was present for every milestone; birthdays, graduations and even sitting through his great granddaughter's dance recital. He would do anything for them without question nor judgement. He had a larger than life presence and personality. He had a hard exterior but was humble, compassionate and had a big heart. On snow days he made sure not only his walkway was clear but his neighbors as well. He was a master debater and vivid story teller. There are many things that he loved and enjoyed but old cars and good food are at the top of the list. The life and memory of our loved one shall be cherished by his children, Jameile (and Margaret) Cawley, Nakia Cocanougher, Kim (and Roxxanne) Clemons, Assante and Jourdan Henderson, DeShonda (and Dwayne) Mills, Shamia Monroe, Kyle Brown and Shawana; his grandchildren, Bhianca Williams, Dwayne Mills, Love Roby (Cocanougher), Levi Clemons, Ava, Cain, and Cassius Cawley, his great granddaughter, Sharia Williams and his god-son Paul Wood. He leaves to mourn, his long time friend Carole Furr and his sister-friend Vanyetta (Ms. V) Thomas. Funeral Services will be Held at Columbus Avenue AME Zion Church, 600 Columbus Avenue Boston, MA 02118 Wake: 9:30 AM. Services: 11:00 AM Interment private.
