Klara Nowak

Klara Nowak, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was born in Belgorod, Russia on November 5, 1924. During World War II, she was removed from her home and family, including an identical twin, to work in a German war camp. She met and married Jozef in 1945 and they lived in Germany where they had two daughters, Alina and Josefine. They then relocated to Maasmechelen, Belgium, where they welcomed a son, Edward. She managed the household while Jozef worked in the coal mines. In 1959 they were sponsored to come to America and traveled across the Atlantic with their 3 children, where they had to yet learn another language and customs.

They lived in Newark, Irvington, and Linden, NJ over the years, and made a life for their family. Klara and Jozef were hard workers, always wanting to provide for their children. Klara worked as a packer at the A&P Bakeries in Newark and later at Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals. They retired to the Holiday City South Community in Toms River. They were just shy of celebrating 69 years of marriage when Jozef passed away on March 14, 2014. Klara was surrounded by her loving family since.

She was predeceased by her daughter Alina Nowak Thomas and survived by her children Josefine Nowak Kozak and Edward Nowak. She has 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Klara will be laid to eternal rest, along with her husband, Jozef Nowak, on Monday, September 18, 2017. A service celebrating their lives will be held at 10am at the Barn Church, on the cemetery grounds of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa, 654 Ferry Rd, Doylestown, PA 18901.
