Juanita Cooksey Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 14, 2003.
Juanita P. Cooksey of Eufaula...Strength and honor were her clothing and January 12, 2003 she rejoiced as she passed from death into eternal life. What a strong yet gentle, loving mother and granny she was who made so many sacrifices for her family. How very blessed we were to have known and loved her. Her worth is far above rubies. Her husband, Dewey always loved and trusted her all the days of his life and the fifty-six years they were married when he preceded her in death. She willingly worked with her hands. She provided food for her household and anyone who entered it. She had made biscuits and gravy since she was 8 years old (68 years) and was a pro cook until her health prevented it. She sat on her boat dock and communed with God. Her faith was strong. She must have caught thousands of fish and willingly gave most of them away. Her children Bob & Ann Cooksey of Eufaula, Neta & Carl Archer of OKC, Danny & Nicole Cooksey of Eufaula, and her grandchildren Curtis & Kim Cooksey of Edmond, Dawnita & James Lee of Moore, Sabrina & Jon Kettle of Tulsa, Todd & Chantel Archer of OKC, Danny A. Cooksey and Melody of California, Anna & Jed Whitfield of Eufaula, Lacee Cooksey & Trish of Oregon, Tiffany & Robert Cooksey of Eufaula and her twelve great grandchildren, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy & Wanda Smith of Choctaw, Bennie and Billie Smith of OKC and Linda & Mel Calvert of OKC 'all rise up and call her blessed!' She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends including Jim & Cleon, Ginny & Arthur and countless others. The families deepest gratitude goes to the marvelous staff of doctors, nurses, aides, and housekeeping of Southcrest Hospital in Tulsa and Sojourn Hospice who made it easier to say goodbye. Services are 2:00 pm, Wed. Jan. 15, 2003 at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel with burial at Sunny Lane Cemetery. Bill Eisenhour Southeast 5005 S.E. 29 672-1321
