As one year has nearly passed, I often find myself thinking of you and your family. I am a mother now too, and I cannot imagine the pain you must have felt knowing that you would not be there to help raise your beautiful children. Sometimes life just doesn't make sense. I pray for you, for your husband, for your families and friends. I pray for your children and I hope they always feel the fierceness of your love.

Dear family of Kirsten
I am still praying for you daily. God be with you today and forever.

To the family of Kristen, I do not know Kristen personally but I heard about her at this year's Singing Christmas Tree and was so touched I googled and read more. I only wished I knew her or heard her perform. A beautiful soul indeed! My condolences go out to you all.

I first saw Kristen at the Singing Xmas Tree in 2011, with my daughter and granddaughters. Her sad story, but above all, her beautiful voice, touched all of our hearts deeply. We again saw her last year again at the 2012 Singing Xmas Tree and it was so heart rending to see her decline from the previous year; how hard God is sometimes on the most beautiful and brave soles. She still sang her heart out and I cried along with my daughter. It was a privilege to have seen her perform both times. She became a hero to my granddaughter, who is going through some life issues herself. Even though you don't know us, our deepest condolences go out to your family especially to her husband and 3 boys.

I only knew Kristen through her music, which was passed on to me by my sister who attends your church. Kristen's encouragement lives on in my life through the words of her song "Hold On" from her Songs From Home CD. I am humbled by her faith and attitude in life. I look forward to meeting her in heaven. May you be encouraged by her continued "test"imony...(I love how she wrote that in her blog) to someone who did not know her in person. I will hold your family and your boys in my prayers.

'For I know the plans I have for you' declares The Lord. 'Plans to prosper you and not harm you; plans to give you hope and a future.' Jeremiah 29:11

Kristen epitomized Jesus' love; for her Heavenly Father, for her family and for whomever she crossed paths with. No mere coincidences here. All divine appointments with Kristen brought joyful celebration of God's wonder-filled love! Her magical voice, warm smile and heart of compassion richly blesses us all. Thank You!

May precious memories of your beloved Kristen keep you strong in your faith as God's comfort and peace fills you.
Her legacy lives on. Oh, that we all would aspire to live our one and only life as she so beautifully did!

I pray that the Lord will comfort Mike and her boys and Kristen's family. It breaks my heart that someone so young beautiful was taken from the world. I never personally knew her, but yesterday the Lord led me to watch her memorial and wow what an incredible woman. She has inspired me to enjoy my life more despite its hardships and to grow in my walk with Him!! She sounds like an incredible woman and I only wish that I had got to meet her. May peace be with your family during this time. Know that the Lord is with you and that Kristen is still inspiring people even in this. My prayers are with all of you.

My deepest sympathies on Kristen's passing. She was a pillar of courage and resilience. Her blog through wordpress provided me with so much spiritual inspiration. I was constantly amazed by her ability to press in to God and in everything, encourage others to seek a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Jesus. Kristen has changed lives, of people she barely knew and she has finished her race. We pray that your family continues to feel the Lord's comfort and presence during this time.

May A Candle Burn for Kristen at Christmas

October 9, 2013

Dear Mike and family,

What to say about Kristen? When my mom and I heard that she was coming to the tree to sing, we thought 'How wonderful' until we heard her story. Her song "Christmastime, You Can Find Joy" brought so much memories for us when we lost loved ones in the past. Last years tree brought even more, especially when Kristen said that it brought tears to her eyes when the choir sang "Christmas Time All Year" and "The Prayer".

We know what you're going through, because we just lost a loved one last month. If you ever need someone to talk to or even someone to keep an eye on the kids for you, just give us a call at 780-465-7666.

We shall miss our shining star, now she can shine bright for all to see. Have a candle lite at Christmas.

"The wound is the place where the light enters you" ~Rumi

October 8, 2013

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
