Kristen Kaylor Smith GOOSE CREEK - Kristen Kaylor Smith, 48, of Goose Creek, SC, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. Kristen's pain is now over as she can rest in eternal peace. Born November 21, 1973 in Greensburg, PA, Kristen was the daughter of JoAnne F. Kaylor and the late David Daniel Kaylor. Kristen was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Psychology. Kristen was an avid bee keeper (Lowcountry ChickaBees) who loved her honey bees and made honey for her family and friends. She did not let her health problems prevent her from her love of gardening. She shared her knowledge with her seed swap group and was known as the Gimpy Gardener. Kristen leaves behind her husband of 23 years, Jeffrey Alan Smith, her 2 sons: David Jeffrey Smith, 23, Ryan Kaylor Smith, 17, and her daughter, Kaylor JoAnna Smith, 15. In addition to her 3 children that she loved and adored, she leaves behind her three Shih Tzu fur-babies: Annabelle, Jackson and Brindie, who gave her comfort in some difficult times. She also leaves behind her brother, David Daniel Kaylor, II of Venetia, PA (his wife, Traci Kaylor and their 2 children: Alec and Allie). She is also survived by Thomas Rush and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, David Daniel Kaylor, who was math teacher in Hempfield Area School District, in 1997. A local memorial will be held at a later date. A memorial and service will also be held in her hometown, Greensburg PA, at a later date. Kristen wished to be cremated.
